This video is from our expedition to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, on January 12th, 2024. This time, we decided to travel by train. Our journey began from Pennsylvania to Winnipeg and then continued our route on the train for two days. We discovered the town of Churchill, rode snowmobiles, and chased the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights). Eventually, we opened up new territory for us to return, especially for polar bears. We hope you enjoy our inspirational video!

Love this video! In my opinion July is the best time to visit Churchill. The Belugas are amazing and when we go out on the Zodiaks we have always had to steer a polar bear in the water away from town. I stay with a local so I have the best tour guide but you guys had lots of fun. I've been there in every time of year and I've had fun every time! Hope you have an amazing time in August! I've done the 16 hour train ride from Churchill to Thompson and then drove the 8 hours down to Winnipeg. Its an adventure for sure!! I appreciate the tip about buying the sleeper car ticket at the train station! Thanks for sharing!

What a beautiful trip you had. It was wonderful to see the fox I as a Australian (Tasmanian) always imagined they would be white. That really fascinated me. I am so happy you were able to experience the Northen Lights, one of my dreams. I have chased and captured the Southern Lights a lot, unfortunatley missing the biggest show in over 20 years. It is an amazing experience. How did you stop your camera from freezing in such cold conditions. That is something I have wondered. You guys have a charming manner, I do have an issue with most youtubers that music playing when you are talking makes it hard for anyone with hearing issues to hear your speaking.

Thank you so much for your comment. Appreciate the feedback RE: background music. Something for us to keep in mind for sure. The hardest part in cold is to keep the battery charged. In extreme colds it looses power very quickly I mean in minutes. So external power source would be required.

@@cigan1 thank you so much. I also noted that you were cold on the snowmobile ride, as a person who does not have snow in winter what clothing and boots would be most suitable... thanks so much

@@tazziegee8479 usually cloths have weather rating. There are plenty of options out there. I like Vollebak gear. For footwear there is a Canadian brand called Baffin. You can’t really go wrong with that. Plus heavy wool socks. That should do it. One thing I wish I had was eye googles. Next time…

@@cigan1 Want to go back? Yes! I can’t say we are planning it yet though. When we do, it will be in the summer for the whales, and hope to catch a few of the bears in the colorful tundra. We have other trips planned for this year and probably next. Maybe 2026 before we get back again
