Don’t stop being a positive, good person because of some bad actors. There are more good people than bad in the world.

A man I admire lived by the philosophy of “I’d rather help 10 people with 9 scamming me if I truly help the 10th person”! Feel positive about your part of the encounter as you only have control of your own actions! One last observation is that whenever approached I become suspicious if they start by saying “I never do this”.

I live in a Motorhome because cannot afford an apartment or rent. It's a 1975 Mobile Traveler made by a company that no longer exists from Kansas. I don't want a new motorhome, I want to upgrade what I have. It's a van cut out and all it needs is a new camper box as the rest being the vehicle is less then 70k miles and runs perfect. I hope one day I can find a way to upgrade this thing if all my other expenses get out of my way. Paying medical bill from food poisoning which for some reason costs 7k and on top of that another 5.5k payments on a Chevy Malibu to get to work and back just to afford paying bills so I can keep going back to work to pay more bills again. Never ending cycle.

It's sad that we can't trust people anymore. I know others who have been scammed this way and it not only shows what kind of person the scammer is but what kind of person you are with a big heart. So glad to see you made it home safely!

It seems you can be happy and naive, or disgruntled and cynical. I would recommend staying happy and naive as after 30!years in criminal justice with 22 being a parole officer, I can tell you that you really don’t want to spend much time concerning yourself with what’s out there when there are so many travels to make. I was once told by someone and have used it as my philosophy: if I have the money to give, I will give it, but if I don’t , then. I won’t. I stopped loaning money to people years ago and only give it when I have it to give.

Wouldn't worry about getting scammed just learn from it. Those people are sociopaths so you saying something genuine means nothing to them. You can trust people but trust is earned and there's a lot of ways you can help through charities and things like that to people who actually need help.

With the lady at the airport it happens. I have done that before. You have to go in expecting to never get paid back. Around Christmas one year at a rest stop some ladies said they needed 20 bucks for gas. I gave them 50. Did they need gas? Who cares. They obviously needed the money more than me so hopefully they enjoyed it or got gas. Also maybe i am wrong but from the video that is very minimal surface rust. Not to be concerning.

I believe when you help somebody with good intentions, it don't matter what they do. Somehow the good will come back to you. As far as her. I believe hers will come back to her as well. You can never go wrong following your heart.

Giving has its own intrinsic benefits to the giver, call it blessing, karma or whatever. It doesn't matter if you are responding to a real need or a con. Don't allow a con artist to steal your joy or change you in any negative way. The world needs a lot more people like you. You have worthy goals and are on track to realize them. That's a memorable road trip for sure! I just spent almost a full day troubleshooting why the rear lights on my RV were not working correctly...I can relate to your experience with the ambo lights. My issue turned out to be a disconnected ground wire deep within the frame rail, but all working again now. Good luck with the new build!
