This kind of thing really ticks me off! I see it all the time. I had a friend, years ago, that drove his uncle's car, with disabled plates, & always parked in disabled parking. I would call him on it, & all he would say is "Oh well."

If you know you're cheating, than why would you drive through a checkpoint? Just park in normal parking. People will do anything to save on parking fees.

This video is the most beautiful thing in the world. My mother is a wheelchair user who is completely unable to walk. When we go somewhere and all the disabled parking is full, we have to turn around. We have no other option. We HAVE to have a parking space with room on the side to load and unload. It is not a matter of convenience, it is a necessity. Able-bodied people have no idea what it's like.

My uncle is handicapped and can park in handicapped parking spots, but even he barely uses it because he says that he can still walk and move around and some people are in worst condition than he is and he leaves them for those who really need it. On icy conditions he'll sometimes use it because he had a knee surgery and hip replacement so in colder weather he aches more and is prone to slipping and falling more too. He'll even use a cane sometimes as well. In warmer and dryer weather/seasons he has no issue walking a little more to places. He enjoys the walk. But then there are some people not handicapped at all and it really pisses me off. What's the matter having to walk a bit to a store or to a game?? People like that take their mobility for granted, and are just lazy. My own uncle who is qualified to use the space only uses it when he really needs it because it's true, there are people who need special walkers, people that can't walk for too long etc.

I have a handicap placard, and I would never let law enforcement check me without suspicion of a crime. That is a violation of your rights.

GOOD FOR SONOMA COUNTY! Write those tickets and confiscate those placards. Handicap cheating is low life.

i was at that race and live in Florida and here the placard has your Florida driver License number on it and come with a registration and i had it with me sad part the 10 cars in front of me were all getting tickets

"The punishment for misusing your placard is that we are going to take you behind that building over there and you will be unable to walk for the rest of your life. Please exit your vehicle."

Good deal. They give those placards out pretty easy. Some people don't really need them to begin with. Some need to park in the furthest spaces away with there placards. It may do them some good.

I wonder how many people pay the fines. Some just ignore it and wait until they are caught, which may take years or never. They suspend their license and they continue to drive until they may be caught.

I dropped my dad(his car and placard) off at a Walmart and went to go get his Subway sandwich’s. When I came back, I parked in the handicap section and got out to help him with the groceries. This lady saw me getting out the car and commented on me abusing the parking spot. I ignored her, but was I in the wrong? Should I have blocked the fire lane to load the groceries with my dad?

My fiancé sometimes uses her mom’s (who is disabled) car which has placards. We never use it partly because it’s wrong and mostly because it’s easy to forget about. $1000?! Damn.

The border patrol agent dude that tried to flash his badge like they were gonna give him the special treatment I feel his fine should have doubled due to the fact he is a border patrol cop and knows better.

Law Enforcement agencies need to put the following policy in place:. If you show your badge to try to get out of doing something illegal, beyond being prosecuted for the illegal thing, no law enforcement agency can promote you for 5 years.

A lot of people take advantage using peoples handicapped cards. 20 yr old girls in high heels walking to the dance club, the hockey players carrying their equipment. Ive only personally seen 2 people that were truly handicapped. And most construction workers have these handicapped stickers .. they can afford parking.

The person who the placard is assigned to should have their face printed on it from the DMV

I have handicap parking placard. I only use it when I absolutely have too. There are days I just can't walk very well. Otherwise I park wherever there is an open spot. But what gets me are people who abuse the use of placards. One woman who has it because of her mother, but she uses it because she is lazy, and mom isn't with her. Maybe if she would walk more she wouldn't be a hundred + pounds overweight!

You dont have to pay the fine. You can opt out and do the jail time. It still cost taxpayers more than the city will collect. If you're going to sink that low to use the placard, might as well go all out. Lol
