I'm 23 years old, I had a heart transplant at 12 weeks old. I have been trying to find a video of a heart transplant for years to watch on youtube and I haven't been able to. This was awesome to finally be able to watch this and see what was done to me. Thank you for sharing this.

I had a heart transplant on Sept. 4, 2019. How can you thank someone for giving you a life again??? Many prayers have gone out to my donor and family. I don't know who they are, and may never know. At 6 months, I can send a letter through the heart transplant team, to the family. It's up to them, if they want to write back. I hope they will. I want them to know that I'm guarding their donors heart with my life!! I will treat it as well as I can! And they have my sympathy for the loss of their loved one. And my thanks, for them donating his/her organ. It's the most precious gift you can give before leaving this life...to donate your organs, so that others may live. What wonderful, caring, people they are!! If anyone has any questions, I would be more than happy to answer!

I always wanted to be a doctor. But stuff like this makes me faint hearted and then I start clutching my chest and feeling my own heartbeat. I can’t believe this is possible. This is so cool but I don’t know if I could do this myself

The way they crank open the chest. Ugh. When the pain meds wear off it’s gonna feel like a bus ran over their torso

This is SO cool! I really wanna be a cardio thoracic surgeon when I’m older so getting to see this operation really inspired me and I’m sooooo excited! 😁
