In this video we try our hand at No Till Farming. We are trying to plant new alfalfa into an already established field of Timothy and Brome grasses. This is an experiment for us and we hope that it works out in the end.

We drilled clover into our Bahia hayfield, it came up much better in the bald spots! Interesting watching how farming is done the same and different in Wyoming and Florida! Enjoying your videos! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏 PS, we’ve got a great couple of friends in big piney, we love it out there!

Big Piney is a nice place! I have a good friend that lives over in Pinedale so we are over in that area fairly often. I would be interested in seeing some of the differences on how things are done in Florida. I would assume there isn’t near as much hay being fed and alot more grazing.

Is the seed expensive? Love those views of the mountains surrounding the valley.

We are very lucky to be able to live and farm here in such a beautiful area. My Great Great grandparents homesteaded here in the late 1800’s. It was around $1200 in seed cost

Cute kiddo! 🙂. Question, do you ever let your improved grass go to seed to help spread into the bare spots?

Thanks! We are pretty fond of him. We have let grass seed out before and not cut it then turned the cows out into it in the fall and that seemed to work out pretty good.

Good post Bryan. Hope you get good results. How do you irrigate?

We use a mixture of center pivots, wheel lines and a few hand lines in occasion. How has hay season been for you so far? We are running about 2-3 weeks behind on growth because it’s been such a cold wet year

@@LuthiRanchWY I remember you said you drew your water out of the river but I did not remember how you got it to your pastures. My water is pumped out of the irrigation company ditch but the cost of diesel has stopped that. I've switched over to flood but this gives poor coverage given the type of topography I have. Fire season has started so many things are in the air. Take care keep your videos coming.
