I think that's a great question. This has never crossed my mind. Personally, I've never had issues with XML files. I think scene detection would be fine. I think it depends on what type of files you're working on and if you want access to the raw files if you have them. I hope that helps!

It depends. I would if I need to share shots with VFX or motion graphic artists. However, I've found it's easier to just export a ProRes 422 file and add stabilization at spots where I needed it. When exporting an XML from Resolve for Premiere it often requires more work since it struggles with slow mo shots. I've found exporting a single ProRes shot to be much faster.

Sadly it does not. My best recommendation is to either create a PNG of your text or plan on creating an XML to go back to Premiere. I know it's not ideal, but I wish I had a better workflow.

Depends on the goals. This is commonly brought up without understanding the workflow that many studios and post facilities have in place here in Hollywood. For instance, many of the top films are using programs like Avid because it has a deep set of tools like Script Sync that make it easier to find particular lines of dialog. Avid also has great tools to allow multiple people working on it and it can support huge project files, not linked files, that are gigs in size. Also, the top VFX artists and using programs like Nuke. They are also using more specialized programs like Flame. Sound Designers and Mixers are using programs like Pro Tools. This also doesn't account for the hardware and machine rooms that cost thousands of dollars that support a particular program or workflow. In conclusion, change is slow in Hollywood and old habits die hard.
