Scrap lawn mower repair. We took this Champion RV150 powered lawn mower in as a part exchange. The owner said a shop quoted £120 to repair and service a lawn mower so he bought a mower from us and we took this off his hands as a scrap lawnmower and done some lawn mower maintenance. it was missing many parts so check out this video to see if we can return it to working condition so it can live another day.

The "Jeepney" really do exist. Saw the full sized ones in the Philippines in the mid 60's. Originally made from the many left over / discarded WWII era jeeps The rear compartment was widened and opened up, an entrance / exit created, the canopy top added, carrying 8+ people , goats, chickens etc. Narragansett Bay

you can use a heat gun/ blow torch to fix faded or powdery plastic, like the plastic cover on the top of the mower, heating it up will make the plastic look like brand new and make it just as strong as new plastic , just make sure to clean it very well first or it will seal in any dirt left on it.

Thank you, very useful as I have the self drive version of the same mower. I was given mine as a non runner about 5 years ago. Carb clean fixed it. It's still working OK now. The lady I got it from still had the instruction book in a plastic folder. When I looked at it it had the original shop receipt. It was from focus DIY march 2007. Cost £129.99 + £10.99 for the engine oil. I did have the Carb jet block quite often. I added a tiny moped in line fuel filter to the fuel ine and that totally fixed it. Thanks once again.

hi martin hope you and family are ok love scrap it mans channel too doing some good stuff. just a quick question my ibea 420 mower i got is still surging and revving high and also getting really quite hot to the touch could it be a head gasket damaged its a quantum engine had new filter and a air filter gasket and a full carb clean but the jet is fixed o cant get it out but carb spray flowed through as is the fuel but am at a lost end trying to find the fault your advice etc would be greatly appreciated thanks and keep up the great videos
@retrorestore
@retrorestore 4 жыл бұрын
You might have an air leak between the carb and the intake causing a lean mixture. That would make it run hotter too. Try and keep the mower running and spray carb cleaner round the carb and if the engine speed increases, its sucking in the carb cleaner confirming an air leak. Do it on a cold engine though.
