vikash yadav it's pritty simple... method which is to be called is decided at a runtime is method overriding. where as the method which is to be called is decided at a compile time ( if there is two same signature methods ) is called called method hiding.

main() method can be inherited but cannot be overriden, reason being it is static and belongs to class.

If main method present in parent and child with same signature program does not compiles. You explained it wrong. The method main cannot be declared static; static methods can only be declared in a static or top level type

Hi, I don't recall it why I post my last comment. But program compiles and run when we have same static method in parent and static and its method hiding and not method override Thanks and keep posting. Nice java videos
