let me ask if there are 2 motors DC of the same size, one with 2 poles and the other with 4 poles, which motor rotates faster and which one will bear the load better. thank you very much.

2 pole motor= more speed- low torque. 4 pole motor= more torque- low speed

Why 4 poles generator commonly used rather than 2 poles?

Because 4 pole alternators are coupled with 1500RPM engines. 2 pole are coupled with 3000RPM engines. The faster the engine runs, the shorter it’s life span, hence why 4 pole are more popular for generators.
