On the final issue raised, the problem is that compliance with the rules gets assessed each season. If Villa breach the rules now (governing the 3 most recent seasons) then there will be a (pretty serious) penalty. Non compliance would be daft. A different prospect is trying to shift expenditure/revenue between accounting periods. For example doing the sales at the end of one financial year (to comply with PSR limits) but then the purchases at the start of the next financial year, when income will be higher.PS can someone explain the Cameron Archer situation? If he returns now is that equivalent to Villa splashing £15m on a new player?
