this is a great film, i highly recommend it, even if it's not available with subtitles. many of the scenes are self explanatory, i have watched the french version many times and the only dialogue i miss is i'd like to know everything that Girolomo Savonarola in the last story is saying. i believe he makes a comment about the borgia family's incestuous relationships. Walerian was a genius in making this film, the last two stories are the best but the second one has some very subtle commentary on the catholic church - its about st theresa and i'm sure he has seen the famous statue of theresa that looks like she's having an orgasm surely inspired the scene in the film where she's getting horny feeling the throbbing organ pipes in the church and her story suggests how catholic fanaticism is just really misplaced sexual lust. this is why catholic priests are so horny. the elizabeth bathory story is probably the best in the film, with incredibly beautiful paloma picasso as bathory and the scenes of the girls in the shower reminds me of concentration camp showers. the final story of the intimate relationship between Lucrezia Borgia and her father and brother is also the second best story of the film, showing both the real hypocrisy and tyranny of the papacy. even though most of the actors in the film don't look like the actual historical figures they portray, none of the borgias look even remotely like the actors, and paloma is much more beautiful than the real bathory, but the actor who portrays monk Girolomo Savonarola looks exactly like him, which really impressed me because he is my favorite character in the final story. Also i love how Giovanni Sforza, Lucrezia's husband, refuses to eat the papal cookies, as if he thought it was a cookie from a minor league hockey initiation that had some of the papal sperm on it
