1 Corinthians 11 has a lot going on in it. Could I explain the part about a woman's hair being her covering?

I'd encourage you to keep studying the topic. 🙏 The chapter speaks about 2 things. Hair lengths and an actual cloth covering.

After 20 years in Christianity I recently converted to Islam…but I do agree there is much confusion along this topic, you explained better than the average Christian. According to the Bible isn’t it true that some of the Old Testament women wore head coverings in day to day life??? Isaiah 47:2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. And Issac’s wife Rebecca? But I do agree with you…that in the religion of Christianity women are not mandated to wear head coverings like the women are in Islam when they pray.

I haven't really studied out the Old Testament laws about women's apparel, but they did so many things that aren't in the New Testament that I am so glad for grace and not the law. It is interesting to me that you converted to Islam. I read "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus" and it was very logical and focused on apologetics and reason. I also understand that the Islam and Christianity have more in common than other belief systems and therefore it is worth studying out the differences. I appreciate your kind comment and hope you continue to study the history and literature of your new religion and possibly read the book I read as well. Have a great day.

@@rickandmelissaschworer7542 thanks for responding, and as for studying the laws on women’s apparel there is no laws except Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. Going back to the main point of Paul’s suggestions in 1 Corinthians 11 of him wanting the women to look like women and the men to look like men, basically, and as for the book recommendation the title doesn’t sit well with me “Seeking Allah and Finding Jesus” because just by reading that title I can tell the author believes Jesus is God which something I vehemently disagree with. But thank you for your response and your video has helped my wife and daughters see that head coverings were not required in Christianity for women who have long hair. Me, My wife, and daughters use to be apart of an Israelite Camp that believed women had to wear veils when they prayed and the men could not wear any coverings while praying. :-)

Consider pictures of baphomet or satan, who has long hair and a female chest. That does not glorify God to have a male type figure with female attributes. It seems like God is distinctly distinguishing Satan's copycat deity from himself, if man is created in His image then man should not look like baphomet. So God does not look feminine or have long hair, and those attributes actually give glory to him although not directly looking like him. Also a thought that equality does not equal the same responsibilities or roles, even though feminism and modern Christianity says that a woman can do everything like a man and even without a man. I have heard that I'm more feminine a woman can be, the more masculine a woman can be just by distinct looks and distinct embracing of the roles of their gender. Just thoughts and not trying to establish any doctrine and thank you for trying to help and share and help other people think.

I cover femininity and masculinity and roles in several videos on my channel. Toxic Femininity & Toxic Masculinity and being a Keeper at Home. As far as pictures of Satan vs. God, those are rather subjective and manmade. So I personally try not to deviate from Scripture but I hear what you are saying.
