*Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Redeemed Spoilers*
The climactic ending of Future Redeemed put into further question the circumstances behind N's possession of the Sword of the End. Taking a dive into Noah / N's fundamental qualities, the reason for why he was selected as the avatar of the Logos Core will be revealed.
This is my first attempt at making a video in any way so apologies if the sound mixing and microphone quality isn't that good.

I love how Noah having Pneuma represents his spirit and determination to save the people he holds dear to him (he REALLY hates it when characters like Ethel or Juniper lose the will to live) and connects with/speaks for the dead in off-seeing (a trait that no other incarnation of Noah had), and obtains Logos (Sword of Origin, absorbing N, Harmonic Wave, etc) after demonstrating that his desire to find the truth of the world and fighting against Z's false ideal was stronger than N's desire to retain the state of the world and knock down on his idea of a "purpose"

Beautiful video dude, I always saw Logos’ role as parallel to Pneuma, with Pneuma granting spirit to the global majority, Logos would be there to make sure there is justice and equality within the population, taking an interest in the downtrodden and neglected. I think this lines up well with both Jin and N. As Malos himself says he is ‘the thunder of justice’

Thank you! That idea of yours works so well in the context of XB2 and 3 with those worlds being so flawed and filled with injustice. Alrest due to Amalthus and those similar to him and Aionios at a fundamental level. Those environments are enough to break people give birth to individuals like Jin and N.

fantastic video. it also makes sense when considering Noah and N’s rejoining. it’s the reunion of Logos and Pneuma, emotional and logical reasoning. that’s the power and philosophy that leads to Noah truly ending Aionios

Never though about the concept of the Aegises core just spawning infront of a person with strong will and wishes, just like Nae'el. You just cleared a very important question that I had ever since I finished FR, thank you:)

This is a really good analysis video, this just goes to show that a lot of the un-answered mysteries can easily be explained by prior knowledge across the whole franchise. Why slap giant red arrows over everything when you can let really well written nuance do it for itself. Even if this style of writing isn't for everyone I refuse to let anyone say it's bad, I'm not pointing fingers when I say this i've just seen my fair share of complaints on the internet that people don't like the writing. Granted the complaints i've seen were actually before FR came out I wonder if those people have changed their opinion at all now the FR has tied so many loose ends the base game had.

Man this was a great video, i thoroughly enjoyed it! Altough i knew N having Logos core made sense, its so nice to see the reasons as to why he of all people would have it! Now it also makes much more sense why Matthew had Pneumas core! Tough i still have one question that i cant seem to answer. Does this all imply that our Noah, when he faces Z, has both Pneumas and Logos cores with him? It would make alot of sense if he did due to Z being a replica of Ontos, along side X and Y who are replicas of Logos and Pneuma, pair that up with Ontos in FR being defeated by using Logos and Pneumas cores, i would say it all adds up but its the one question im kinda uncertain about. 🤔

Glad you enjoyed. I would say he does have both for the reasons you stated, needing both Logos and Pneuma to influence / defeat a form of Ontos. That's part of why I loved the ending of FR as it reframed the entire narrative of base 3.

Takahashi confirmed Malos/Logos is in N's sword in the artbook (Aionios Moment) . You're Wizard lol Also, Takahashi's statement in artbook is pretty interesting why he cant answer that Malos is in sword, yet. Wonder if we are going to see the incarnation of Malos/Logos in next Xenoblade? Logos is the only processor that doesn't have multiple incarnation yet.

That was honestly the most interesting comment in the whole questionnaire for me. Saying he can't answer why Logos was in the sword despite supposedly vanishing raises so many questions for the future of the series.

@@HouseRiceXBC exactly, people already speculating that perhaps Logos/Malos might return in XB4. To me it would makes sense since Trinity Processor cannot exactly *die* as we have seen that they can recover as long other processors have the data. Most likely its Ontos because FR show Ontos has all data from previous world. Anyway, I'm curious what Takahashi will cook up in XB4👀 & I don't mind Logos returning in different form

It definitely makes sense, but im still not sure due to some translations referring to “them” in female pronouns. N also says he will transfer his swords power to Matthew in that same cutscene, the only time the Pneuma core appears is after N says he will grant him the swords power. So im unsure

You're definitely valid in feeling unsure because unlike previous games we're left to piece it together and naturally can come to different conclusions. I like it a lot for that and at the same time it's a tad annoying because nothing is concrete. Coming at it from my perspective in regards to the female pronouns that could easily be an interpretation by the translation teams or even a mistranslation. Apparently N and Ghondor's conversation was mistranslated for English. As for "granting the swords power" that could be the Pneuma core reacting to the presence of Logos though I don't have a thought out explanation on how that works. Once again another case of it not being concrete

@@HouseRiceXBC about the translations, first there wasn't any mistranslation in N and Ghondor's conversation, only nuances lost. To put it simply in Japanese first a verb was omitted "Does mother [verb] this" implying knowing/agreement then two pronouns omittion, a feature that couldn't work in English. The problem lies in the pronouns first within the sentence "[subject] don't need to know" from N after Ghondor ask if his mom is involved and then "she would tell [subject] to [let it] go, but [subject] can't choose this path" from Ghondor. The official script translate to be Ghondor [you] the subject, then N [you], while the fan one by Lugalbanda interpret it as M then Ghondor [I]. Actually it doesn't change most of the conversation, which could be why the devs decided to omit the subject, to have nuances with two-layer of meaning (amphiboly), which would be lost in translation. With in the official translation they decided ot take the side of a more direct confrontation between N and his son with the mother figure used by the son as the voice of reason against the father, while in the fan one M is more supportive figure for Ghondor, even if he declined it. The problem is that Lugalbanda (ironically) misinterpreted the English text and thought there was an mistranslation. He doesn't understand that by avoiding to awnser N reveals that M don't know and probably wouldn't agree to him and after the flasback when Matthew tells to N "He [Ghondor]’d never side with the likes of you!" that "the likes of you" was Alpha, an extremist like N and Moebius. (And to be honest I think how Ghondor views his mother in the fan translation a bit odd, because it implies he thinks she wouldn't be suspicious about Na'el being possessed.) Second about the feminine "them" it's interesting to compare the translations. While in English and German the pronoun isn't gendered, it's female in both Spanish and French. But in Italian the translation decides to use an (imo) oddly syntax to avoid revealing the gender. At the contrary to the Korean one which precises it was a female pronoun while it could remains ambiguous. Personally I think the solution would be that the Logos "aspect", after Malos death, was inherited by Pyra (or Mythra). As you said, nothing is concrete, let's hope Xenoblade 4 would settle this (for now I can just hope translator could have inside information). Anyways your video was great.

@@evanpereira3555 I appreciate the clarification, I might go look at that video again with this in mind. Glad the majority of the conversation isn't lost and it's just a slight focus shift as it's one of my favourite moments in the series.
