Jason Cammisa brought a binder full of facts to settle some misunderstandings (and drama) surrounding the Tesla Cyber truck. While he and Matt continue to have differing opinions on some aspects of how Tesla products should be covered, this is a great discussion.

As an engineer who used to work for a supplier (did rear steer development on Hummer EV), it's nice to hear Jason actually know what he's talking about with the technical stuff. I appreciate it when journalists educate themselves beyond a level of "this feels good, I dislike this" etc

Jason nailed it at 18:18. When you’re a journalist, you need to check your own feelings and emotions at the door. That IS the problem with journalism nowadays. Bias. Check your bias, present the facts, and dress it in an entertaining way, without projecting your bias. It’s one of the things that makes journalism so damn hard.

People trust what they understand and what they have experience with. Numbers are meaningless to the part of the brain that assesses danger, only experience matters. And this can work in perverse ways. For example we aren't afraid of car accidents, but some are afraid of flying, and most people are terrified of nuclear accidents, while in reality you are far far more likely to die in a car than being killed by nuclear radiation, and planes are somewhere in between.

That does not mean you're not allowed to give your opinion but when you do give your personal opinion on something it should be stated clearly. Thats just what proper journalism means. And about the "if facts and figures are all that matter I might as well read a cars marketing brochure" is just wrong, the clue is in the word ''marketing''. Jason isn't marketing anything with his work thats not his job and im sure he knows that, he's just giving the facts and the results he finds and than sprinkling in some humor to make it entertaining. This is a very important lesson for all Americans to learn. This has nothing to do with automobiles. This is the difference in real journalism and what people like Matt, a "journalist" consider journalism. One is soley based on facts and the other is based on human emotion. This display shows exactly how and what fake news is. It is so called journalist speaking on their emotions and actual facts. This is a modern journalism epidemic. Thank you Jason for doing your best to be a real journalist in a time where it is a lost art.

I'm a Camisa-holic and I'm so excited to see these two butt heads in a friendly manor. Seeing Camisa argue FOR steer-by-wire while also saying "I keep my Elise to have the most direct steering possible" is such a good point. Understanding the other side of something doesn't mean you have to be FOR it!

Respect to Matt for owning up to his humanity ( we all do this shit and seldomly apologize) and Jason for defending his journalistic integrity with data. I watched Jason’s video and really underestimated how much thought has gone into it. RESPECT!!

Jason Camissa is the Norm Macdonald of the automotive world. Incredibly smart and articulate but doesn't present any of that when they are working. I'm very happy to see the maturity in this episode.

There isn’t one specific reason why I listen to any one automotive journalist. That being said, Jason presents more reasons than anyone else. Your last name should be Charisma. You are my generations Clarkson. Entertaining, informative, funny, not ashamed of your boyish sense of humor. More than anything though, your content never disappoints and always makes me happy. Just make sure when you get stale you buy a farm 😘

It’s amazing how people that don’t know what they’re talking about regarding new technology have such strong opinions about it.

Something I've recently learned from a very well respected leader. Emotionally equipped and accountable people say "yes, and" emotionally immature and defensive people say "yes, but" "Yes, and " acknowledges the person's point, validates it as truthful and then allows you to make your counterpoint. This allows good faith discussion, and in development, interaition of the process. "Yes, but" dismisses the person's point and replaces it with your own. Never acknowledging that the other person's point might be the right one. Matt is very defensive even though, putting his apology in the precursor of the video. Take note of how many times Jason makes a very well articulated point, and Matt goes "yes but". Followed by an emotionally charged counter that doesn't interait on Jason's point but replaces it with his own.

Jason - your head is in exactly the right place. Self-doubing and keeping the ego in check is healthy, and required. But as an external observer, how you approach this (and all your other work) really goes to show why you're attracted such a large audience. You're pathologically knowledgeable on the subject and have done your homework. Keep it up man.
