I haven't played Neopets in literal decades, and you and Amanda are bringing the nostalgia like HOTCAKES.

It feels like TNT as an entity, has shifted from being personally invested in the lore and charm of Neopia with a sense of direction in their world building and storytelling (pre-customization era oopsie 😳), to kind of being guided by those who only remember what it once was, from someone else, and going "ok! and then what should we do?" or whateverrr maybe I just want my neopets to have their cute little emotive poses back 😭

As a returning player from eons ago, I've had a lot more fun with the new era I've been able to actually do things on the site in ways I couldn't when I was like 10 or even trying to get back into it like 5-8 years ago where my account got hacked before the NFT thing so I stopped playing again I'm liking the forboding plot and I think my advent calender highlights so far were snow kadoatie and the ice hissi morphing potion\snowicle day also managed to sell something (idr what) for a pretty penny recently during all this

I played CONSTANTLY from 2000-2009 and intermittently since then, so I am really excited to see it coming back to life

I think I played neopets once when I was like 9 and unsupervised online on the family computer and I know absolutely nothing about it but here I am still awake at nearly 3am since I cant sleep because i drank a litre of iced coffee at 8pm and I'm ready to listen and absorb and take a little pop quiz after

My fave part of the advent calendar so far has been the snowickle. Adorable picture and the prize was more than generous. They really want to deflate the ice hissi morph.

I'm really happy with what neopets has done to combat inflation - for the first time since my account was created in 2008 I've actually been able to buy a paintbrush lol. Making neopoints was always such a horrible slog but now it feels easy, which is not a bad thing - I wouldn't have started playing again if it weren't for the daily quests, especially since my account was logged in to and I lost every valuable or old item I had :/.

THE ALL OF ME BIT LMAOOOO i think the only thing not in this video that stood out to me since the resurgence was the “i hope you live forever in poverty” situation but i also dont remember exactly how long ago that was also great explanation!! i will be sending it to all my friends who have no idea what im talking about when i say “peagate”

I got a seasonal attack pea myself. Its one of the strongest weapons in the game so i appreciate it for easing my battledome grind. I think my favorite items, both this year and last, are the in-demand petpets.

I played super actively from about 2002 to when they released premium. I briefly picked it up again in 2013 and 2017, and since I heard about the quest log I’m back again, hopefully for the long haul. I really appreciate what TNT has done to combat inflation in the releasing of rare items through trick or treat bags, the quest log, and advent calendar. However, I am disappointed with how they handled the seasonal attack pea situation. From my perspective it seems like they gave in to the super rich who wanted it to say expensive. The odds went from 1/50 to 1/1000 last I heard. I think 1/100-1/200 would be more fair. I don’t have any proof of this but I’ve seen a lot of allegations of staff outright lying to users who submitted tickets to recover old accounts or lost pets from compromised accounts. I’ve also seen a lot of people get their old accounts back but with the caveat that all their pets would be converted and all their neopoints and items would be taken away. My old main account was the only account I had with a UC, valuable items, and/or neopoints and it was wiped in the first big account purge (2012 iirc) and my remaining accounts had nothing valuable so fortunately I was able to get them back easily. One of them was hacked though and I lost a few pets that I’d really like to get back but I’ve been told it’s impossible. I’m gonna be really angry if that turns out to not be the truth and I’m gonna keep trying to get them back but for now I’m giving TNT the benefit of the doubt. Given all the allegations I’ve seen my hunch is there is some amount of shadiness going on but only time will tell. ETA: if you want to read some of these allegations I recommend checking out the Neopets subreddit and the Reddit user Neo_Truths who alleged to have access to some behind the scenes info, including records of pet trades from longer ago than TNT says they have.

I loved and lost the pebble ;o; I didn't understand how it worked! It attached to a seemingly random petpet and when I removed that petpet to swap out for another... pebble was gone...

i think my fav advent calendar has been the snow kadoatie cuz i painted it purple n gave it to my baby aisha (she loves it it’s literally her pet cat) i might switch it from purple eventually i just haven’t found any other cute paintbrushes i can afford 🫡

10:22 So, back in 2013 I had my main account frozen for "scamming" other accounts, which of course I didn't do, but I sent a ticket to the support and was completely ignored I got really sad and frustrated and stopped playing With the revamp I decided I'd try again and they said they could unfreeze my account following these conditions: I'd lose all my neopoints, non-neocash items (including paint brush clothing), stamps and stocks UC pets would be converted neopets with high levels would go back to level 29 and finally, if I had Well Named pets, then they would be pounded Lucky me, I didn't give very good names to my pets when I was 11 so they all stayed with me 😅

You know it is doing okay, assuming the growth and profitability statements are actually true.

I recently returned to the site after more than a decade, and the level of nostalgia and surprise at how much the site has changed is crazy. It seems much easier to achieve certain goals, which was great for me as a kid and teenager who put in years for not much reward 😂 So listen, I’m getting an NCUC.

Maybe it's best if the neopets franchise just called it quits. Everyone who has involved themselves with neopets, from the creators, to the staff, and even the fanbase has taken a nasty turn. I love rooting for the underdog, but let's be honest. Nostalgia can only take a franchise so far.
