I am so sorry that this happened to you. For me, I had just come out and told my friend that I would walk and catch a bus to get home when I was attacked from behind. I ended in hospital overnight and it took a few weeks for me to tell my parents what had happened. You are lucky to have the support of your husband. Iam so areful when I go out anywhere and also I go with a group of friends.

What a despicable thing for someone to do to you, I hope the person/people are caught on CCTV and are swiftly dealt with. You keep being wonderful and tbh I am such a homebody like you and love my little town. Sucks when these things happen when you venture out of your comfort zone and sort of makes you just want to stay local for safety and security

I am so sorry this happened to you. I had something similar happen a long time ago. I was hurt enough to have to go to the emergency room. It took me a long time to mentally get over it. I don't know if this would help you but for me it helped a lot. I went back to where it happened. For some reason I was really afraid of that place and I know that was illogical. So I went there alone. And seeing that it was a normal everyday place that nothing unusual was happening brought me partial closure. I don't know if that would work for others but it did help me.

A very similar thing happened to me in London a few years ago, and basically my drink got spiked, as I only had one drink which I purchased myself, and luckily a friend i was meeting in the same pub, but was late, saw me walking down a road near the pub, and took me home, but I was robbed of my phone and purse, money keys etc, very frightening, I had No recollection of leaving the pub. Happened to me several years ago in similar circumstances, so completely understand! Am sure in my case it was targeted. Mental issues carried on for a very long time, so take time. Get help if needed.

Toby, never blame yourself for what happened to you in London. This barbaric behaviour is absolutely disgusting and a sad reflection of the sometimes cruel society we live in. It is happening all over the UK, not just in London. There can be nothing worse than one human attacking another. People have had life changing experiences from being attacked and I am so glad you only experienced bruising but you will experience being emotional as a result. It will also affect you whilst out and about doing everyday things. It is to be expected. Seek professional help if you think you need to. I appreciate you being honest and explaining what happened.
