I would like to see more videos about moving to Florida. How much you need to make to live comfortably/afford a house. Best places to live etc.

Thanks for the feedback, Peter. We will definitely make a video about our experience moving to Florida someday, and also about the cost of living in St. Pete (and how it has changed from when we moved here almost three years ago). As far as best places to live and income required to live in those places, we are not experts on that as we've only lived in downtown St Pete and Sarasota, but you might be able to find some St. Pete area realtor KZfaq channels which would be much more knowledgeable on that topic than we are. Thanks so much for all your hard work and for the great content you put out! We moved just over a month ago from Utah to Weeki Wachee. It’s a big change! I found your Weeki Wachee and Homosassa videos a few months ago. Exploring your channel helped get my kids even more excited for the move while we waited to finish out the school year in Utah. We love it here so far and I love using your videos to find new things for us to do in the Tampa area when we head down there. We recently went to St. Pete beach for the first time and had a blast. I look forward to more potential Nature Coast content!

I enjoy our similarities. I’ve been to 10 countries and my fav is still Costa Rica. Thanks to your videos, my new fav Fl town is Anna Maria Island. A town I’ve never even heard of before my visit. I also never thought my favorite TV viewing would be KZfaq but because of folks like you, I never watch regular TV any more.

We cannot wait to get back to Costa Rica. When we first visited we had such poor equipment and video skills, but I still love looking back at the content and dreaming about returning! The decision between returning to somewhere you know you love versus exploring somewhere brand new is always a hard one though. Normally the new experience seems to win out for us, but I'm sure a Costa Rica return trip will be in our future! It's amazing how many people seem to primarily watch KZfaq now. From my 6 year old nephew to my 65 year old parents... I think they all now watch KZfaq as much or more than regular TV.

Really enjoy your channel! We moved to Tampa in January and my soon to be wife and I use your videos ALL THE TIME when choosing fun things to do. For real, its helped us a lot! As for one of your questions, I prefer a mixture of voice over and talking to the camera. Though we live in Tampa, my fiancé has been working in downtown St. Petersburg and with my job (home office), looks like we’ll be happily moving there about this time next year. We moved from downtown Nashville and it seems like downtown St. Petersburg fits our style much more. Hope to run into y’all while we’re out and about. Thanks again for all the great videos!

You deserve it! Consistency and hard work always pays off! 💪can't believe you are married for 10 years! Wow! Philippines is great to visit and if you don't like cold Scotland and Ireland can be tough to visit haha. You two are super active physically I'm sure it doesn't take too much effort to burn some beers and ice cream despite of the slowing metabolism. It's hard to have boundaries and that's why we decided to slow down filming and focused more on enjoying ourselves lately. You two are celebrities now! 😁

Thanks guys! We agree that consistency and hard work pays off, but it can still be so hard to stay motivated (and not to burn out) during the down times. We've found our channel to be very seasonal, with August through October being our worst performing months by far. So even though we knew that the downturn was coming this year, it still doesn't make it much less discouraging! Yeah, we really have been craving some good tropical hikes and will make it to the Philippines eventually. But as long as Jamie is still working full time, we'll probably be keeping our tropical travels to the Caribbean. We're just thankful that we still have so many more beautiful islands to explore that are so much closer to home!

Decent. I picked up on the "Minnesowda/Wiscansin" lingo. My wife and I have been to Decorah, IA twice (Toppling Goliath), beautiful country! We found your channel while researching Tampa/St Pete (the brewery tour lol). Happily, we moved from the greater Peoria, IL area to Tampa just over year ago and while it sucks to leave family we absolutely love it here. Enjoying the content and congratulations!

Yeah, Skylar definitely has a bit of that northern midwest accent! We've been to Toppling Goliath a couple of times as well. It's only about an hour from Skylar's hometown. Hey guys. I've been watching your videos since moving to St. Pete from New York 2 1/2 years ago, and have explored numerous places based on what you've shown. Surprised I haven’t run into you somewhere. A full-time freelancer, I can totally relate to Skylar's jump; working from home is amazing. It's cool that you're reaching out to your fan base. Love the pacing of your videos and how you structure them; must be hard work. Recently introduced your channel to my parents and my dad loves the speed walking! I wouldn't know what to change; maybe some interaction with the locals, quick interviews/thoughts on food/places, and maybe cover more of the local music scene (thought you guys were going to totally start jamming out in the guitar store!). Or you could use an earpiece to prompt the other and repeat funny things to café or store workers or to people in the street, like Letterman used to do. It’s up to you; you’re so informative, entertaining, and quirky. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful comment, Andrew. Love the Letterman idea with the ear-piece. That's something we've never considered but could surely have a LOT of fun with! We really would love to include more of the live music scene in our videos (we love checking out local bands), but that gets tricky with KZfaq copyright/monetization rules. Someday we might just do an entire video on our favorite local bands/artists... we would just have to get their permission to use their music and would probably not be able to make any money on that video. We really appreciate the constructive feedback. We've grown a lot since we started this channel but know we have a long way to go, and feedback like this always helps. If you ever do run into us while we're out and about in St. Pete, make sure to stop and say hi!

I'm subbed because my better half and I are (relatively) new FL residents (33570) and we're interested in things we can do and see near us. I like both the narratives while you're doing it and the over dubbed voicing. Whichever is easier for you two. As for NETFLIX... two words...Virgin river.

And you are not the first person who's recommended Virgin River to us. I'm going to download some episodes to watch on our flight to Puerto Rico in a couple of weeks!

Loved this video, you guys! It was great hearing your story. Congratulations on making it to 11,000 subscribers (it looks like you're creeping up on 12,000!)! I've loved watching your videos over the last few months. I had planned to move to the Tampa Bay area a couple of years ago but, unfortunately, those plans fell through. You guys give me hope to not give up on my dreams. I watch your videos and visualize myself going to some of the places you go to. I've already answered in the polls but I like the mixture of voiceover and vlog style that you already do. I don't find your videos to be too fast paced. I don't think there's anything that I would change about your videos. I like how you include prices of activities and meals, addresses of the locations you visit, and parking and access information for the different beaches. Keep up the great work! And, yes, Skylar, I would love to hear more about how you were able to quit your job and become a full-time KZfaqr. I'm not a KZfaqr (even though my mom keeps trying to push me to do it, lol!), but I love hearing about how people are able to leave their 9-5 job to follow their dreams. That's one of my goals!

Yeah... we definitely still have many videos that we are in the negative on, and sadly $1 an hour is about right. Never getting to enjoy a "real" vacation is a bit of a drag too, but another sacrifice we're willing to make to pursue the dream. After all, if being a successful KZfaqr was easy, every one would be doing it!

Unfortunately I (Skylar) was on the commercial (loan servicing) side, so I don't have a whole lot of knowledge on the local residential neighborhoods/markets. That said, we definitely have our favorite spots in and around St. Pete and I'd be happy to share any info with you that might be helpful.

Here it is a year later and you guys are pushing toward 30K. Congrats. This showed up on my feed today and was happy to watch it. Do you guys miss KC at all? The company I work for is corporate headquartered in Overland Park and has been there for years. I've visited KC many times over the years, mainly during the early 2000's and one thing that I remember is the barbecue and steaks! So many good restaurants in that area. Please tell me you guys have visited Fiorella's Jack Stack or J. Gilberts.. I am getting hungry typing this. I do miss the food there.

That's kind of surprising that this video showed up on your feed. Thanks so much for watching it! Yeah, the channel has come a long way this year. We were (over optimistically) hoping for 40k by the end of the year. It looks highly unlikely that we'll hit that, but I think it's very likely that we'll hit 50k in 2024. That will be a cool milestone. We lived in Overland Park for a while, and Skylar worked in Overland Park for 7 years. We have eaten at Jack Stack many times, and I (Skylar) ate at J. Gilberts once. I agree that both are great. We rarely even both with BBQ down here in FL anymore. KC spoiled us!

@Explorcation Yeah, so what I've noticed on KZfaq.. when I subscribe to a channel and interact with it, I get suggested videos from those channels on my feed, even ones that are older. I'm not really sure how that formula works, but it seems to be consistent with every channel that I follow. Hard to beat KC and Texas BBQ! I've traveled extensively across the US, and those are the best, in my opinion. Hope to get back there to visit soon.

And congrats on the now 12,000 subs. We are looking to move to the bay area within the next two years and really find your videos entertaining and helpful. Midwest represent! Thanks for your informative videos. I've been watching through them because we're going on vacation from MSP and flying into Tampa, probably going anywhere from Tarpon Springs, along the coast to St. Petersburg, and maybe Bradenton. If you had to choose just 1 brewery, 1 bakery, 1 sushi place, 1 $ to $$ restaurant, 1 $$$ restaurant, and 1 ice cream place, what would you choose? We're nature lovers so would also be interested in 2 natural attractions anywhere along there. Maybe you could make a short vid about it (your fav places overall).

Thanks so much for watching. We hope you have a great time on your visit. That is a great idea to do a video about just our favorite spots from Tarpon down to Bradenton. It would take a lot of consideration since we've been to so many great places, but we do have a bakery that stands out (Hellas in Tarpon) and an ice cream place (Chelsea's Cashew Creamery). There are so many good breweries and it depends on the type of beer we are in the mood for, but one that we both really like is Anecdote in Indian Rocks Beach. For nature spots, we'd recommend Emerson Point in Palmetto, the Largo botanical gardens, or one of the parks we visited in our Palm Harbor video.

Congratulations on the new milestones! You make entertaining content and it shows! I'm not a big fan of beaches, per se, but enjoy seeing the sights along with you. I enjoy the food/drink segments more as we are neighbors, I'm always looking for somewhere new to try out. I think you have a very well balanced channel in the way you create your videos but voted for vlog content as it seems more personal.

Congratulations on your milestones! I know it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication. It doesn't happen overnight for sure! I love your videos because I am a mom of a Sophomore at USF St Pete. I am about 2 hrs away from her so I visit quite often. We love to visit new places and try new food and your videos have become part of our routine. Having said all of that, I don't think it makes a difference to me the style of your videos i.e: voice over or vlogs. I enjoy your content either way! All the best for more success!! 👍🏼👍🏼

I can totally relate about your holidays becoming so involved in work though and hard to find that balance while still providing content... a work in progress for both of us. It's always nice to talk to other creators who can relate, because I'm pretty sure that to the average person they think our life is a breeze! And as much as we love where this life we have chosen for ourselves is leading, it certainly isn't easy! We always tell ourselves if someday we can afford to hire a video editor, that's when things will get easy... although at that point we'll probably just start filming twice as much 😂

That is quite the Florida road trip you have planned, Billy. We do have a Madeira Beach video you can check out for ideas while there. In Tampa we love Thai Temple as well as Coppertail and Cigar City breweries. We have yet to explore St Augustine or Destin, but we hope to soon!
