The drone POV shot at night really shows the coverage of these lights well. And your in-car POV shows they're formidable. And I the DRLs patters too. Simple but distinguished. Great run-through of the product.

Only found you yesterday and glad i did , awesome vid mate SCA has some foam for toolboxes quite cheap, you could cut your own inserts to suit your camera gear and make use of those cases!

Great video again! I would recommend something like Loctite to secure those bolts especially for corrugations. Greetings from frezzing Germany! 🥶🥶🥶

Thanks! These do have nylock nuts to hopefully prevent them coming loose, but always a good idea to be extra sure so thanks for the suggestion. 🙂

A most illuminating review. Please do an update on how the locating hardware is holding up after you've been on a few hundred kms of corrugations. You are possibly the only person working in the crowded off road youtube space who has used the word "montage"in your delivery! Good work :) Thanks.

Now i just need to wait for my cheaper autobarn spotties to stop working so I can validate these. Maybe they'll have the orange covers out then. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for sharing. Not that I expect you to have the funds or opportunity to compare but it would be great to see a comparison against Stedi and Lazerlamps. You could alwasys reach out to those companies. To date, the Lazerlamps appear to have the best quality light but they are expensive, wherease Stedi seem to be in a similar price range to the Altiq. Cheers

Hey mate, did you run wiring for these through the same grommet you passed your GME aerial wiring through. Have you noticed any interference ?

Great point at the end there. If you are using these every week or driving all night its probably worth spending the $$$ but if like me you're using them a couple of times a year then something like the Hardkorr or mid range Stedi might be a better option. The side by side defintely indicates that they'd be great for people who drive long stints at night. Looks much easier on the eyes.

Hey mate, been watching your videos for a long time and love them. When comparing spotlights, I think the power draw needs to be more emphasised. 165W each (330W) draws a total of 27.5A which is extremely high. To put that into perspective, that's the same as 6x high performing HID spotlights. Not saying they're bad lights, just think the very high power draw is the main contributor to its performance. It is also a huge strain on factory alternators which normally have a capacity of 80-90A. These spotlights draw 1/3 of your alternator's capacity!

That’s why a lot of people go to a secondary battery system and run off the second battery that usually gets charged by solar or trickle charge by alternator.
@explorebound
@explorebound 8 ай бұрын
A very valid point there and something worth keeping in mind. My dmax has a 90A alternator and in addition to these spotties I'm also using that to run a 40A DCDC charger so pushing it right up to the limit, I think an alternator upgrade is in my near future!

Dad has his alternator glowing red yrs ago, 1980`s, with 4 130w Halogen lights. I bet these don`t do that. Ultravision lights have 180W.

Got my ones a few weeks ago, for a RRP $879 set of lights I am disappointed in the way the cover's clip on, it's so weak you can flick the covers off with a slight push to the side of them, this also makes a thieves job easier as they can be removed in about half a second !!, overall the lights are beautifully made with a poor cover retainment design, I had a reply from supernova they are currently designing a new "Rally" lens cover (10 x stronger clips) so sounds like they may have realised the original cover retaining system is not up to scratch.
@explorebound
@explorebound 8 ай бұрын
Yeah I mentioned similar concerns regarding the covers in the vid - I suppose time will tell how secure they are but definitely agree the older "clip around" style of the Infinite's etc seemed more secure. That being said, I'm not usually a fan of running blackout covers as I want my spotlights to be useable whenever I want them on without needing to remove a cover. I did enjoy the flood covers with the old Infinites, although with the spread these give as standard I don't think I'll need any flood covers for these (amber covers will be a nice addition though once they're released though)

Nice looking lights. What are the legalities of them sticking forward of the bullbar? One of the draw backs of suck body hugging bullbars .

They're actually sit about 2mm in from the front most point of the bullbar thankfully, so shouldn't run into many issues I hope!

They are cheap compared to Ultravision 180W for $1,700. These are 160W at $800. That`s $900 cheaper for only 20W per light less. 3 of these are $1,200 which gives you 120W more & you still save $500.

Yep it all comes down to use-case with products like these, they're definitely at the top end of the market (although I've seen plenty that are more expensive), but the cost is split between performance and the build-quality, these lights are really well built and should last pretty much a lifetime but again, comes down to how much use people have for them as to whether they're worth the investment. 🙂
I quit my job... what now?
