We stated in Mayfair hotel at Darjeeling, it is one of the best hotels in Darjeeling although costly. 9000 per day including breakfast is excessively high cost for mid-income group travelers.
We checked out on 2nd Dec, 2021 from Darjeeling and started for Chatakpur. PK (you all know him since I published my video on Sitong last year, if not watched yet, here is the link: • Sittong | Sittong Home... ) came to Darjeeling for pick up and we started at 11:15 am in the morning.
It is just one and half hour journey from Darjeeling, after a place called 3rd mile the road is through dense forest.
We stayed at Prem home stay at Chatakpur, it was just another normal homestay in the village with warm hospitality of the owner family.
We roamed around and walked to the watchtower and then to Kalipokhri.
The best thing that you can experience from Chatakpur is offcourse Mt. Kanchenjungha, however, the scene becomes heavenly during sunset and sunrise from Chatakpur.
