What a marvelous building. I am alwys amazed at the artistry of all you historians. I'm not sure who was looking a bit greener in the cupola. Scary ascent. The drone footage was amazing, too. What an adventure!

Mr. Buckner is an absolute gem. I hope his children appreciate what he's doing with this amazing historical house, and that they treasure it far into the future. Thanks Robert and Dan for showing us these real snippets of history.

Oh wow! That house is going to be incredible . Amazing to be saving an old plantation house and turning it into a modern abode. Just proves that old houses don’t need to be torn down they can be moved, rehabbed, rebuilt and continue on with their legacy and history. What that man is doing is incredible. Mike is a throwback to the old southern way of life. He reminds me so much of my dad and my granddad. His home is unbelievable and when it's finished it truly will be a showplace. Even though the woke media is anti-southern, between Mike's mill and his home it has been a pleasure to see some things in the south are still as they should be. Thanks Robert & Dan.

There’s not enough adjectives to describe this magnificent house. I was so impressed with it. When I think about of all the time Mike put into making this 1840 house just blows me away. All the old reclaimed wood being used once again. The size of those original doors. My goodness I could go on n on. The view from the top was awesome. I’m sure the video didn’t do justice for all the beauty it has. He never did mention when he started putting the house together. I’m hoping you can share if you know. I’m so happy you shared this with your UTube fans. I hope Mike will be able to finish this up by 2024. Cuz you know we all want to see progress made. I loved this magnificent beautiful house that one day be a home. Thanks Robert n Mr. Dan ♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🥰🐶

Love this channel, I love that there are southerners preserving their history and historical gems like this. While a lot of people and entertainers turning there backs to their southern roots, at least there are the working class and people of the area with the means to preserve what they can to pass it on down to the next generation and hopefully they will cherish it and be stewards of what is left to them.

That house will be beautiful when it is finished. What a location it's in! Mike seems like a very interesting fellow who puts resources to good use. Please keep us updated on its progress. I live in the eastern NC coastal plain, and my daddy was a farmer. Our sandy soil will grow all kinds of things. It just depends on what you're trying to grow.

Wow! Just WOW! Did you know it takes gold to make red glass? Yes! Of course, this made red glass the most expensive color and, therefore, assured its relative rarity. For a deep ruby red, the gold content is higher than for the lighter cranberry shade. Thank you Google.

A remarkable man building this for his children and for the foreseeable future. He's so down to earth. I loved the mill on the previous video. Use to have mills around the town in the UK where I live but they were demolished long ago. Just rubble scattered about nowadays and nature has took it back.

A good friend of mine did much of the restoration work on Glen Mary in Sparta! He rebuilt all the shutters with old heart pine just like they originally were built! I've seen a photo album of the work as it was being done! Beautiful house! You've got to have some $ to pay someone to do all this work to these old homes but worth every penny! If these walls could talk!

The opening on the top is called a belvedere. Many farms here in rural Ohio have them. Purpose was air circulation. Many of the farm houses had an atrium or central opening from the first floor up to the belvedere, and the staircase was built around that square central opening. Beautiful and practical. Like so many old farmhouses were.
