To close a memorable trip in Spain, we will show you one of our best finds today in Portuguese lands. This impressive palace belonged to upper-class society. Extensive vineyards and livestock lands made up the production of life that previously existed in this generous building. The past family generations exported wine to the entire region and manufactured a lot of money at that time. In such old buildings, several generations have passed. Contrasting with various military uniforms in one of the rooms and various pictures of family portraits, we verify that the house lived with people related to the military nobility of the time, in addition to a famous doctor. Once a vivid place in the 18th and 19th century is now left abandoned for 50 years and is in decline for even longer. As years have passed, its interior has been stagnant in time, being able to appreciate all the elegance that is still perplexed in time.
Today we will show you its delicate rooms with high ceilings, decorated moldings, incredibly carved wooden furniture, and even a private chapel. However, as soon as we want to go inside, we come to an unexpected discovery. The property is guarded. We get chased, not by people, but by a herd of wild boars.
Next week you can see the first episode of our new Abandoned Italy Series, in which we highlight an abandoned ghost town in the mountains that looks straight out of a movie.

Fantastico, In the kitchen what you found was a egg wisk or whip for making fluffy omelettes also the spoon was a melon scoop, the wooden hammer with rough points is a meat tenderizing tool.. you boys need a couple good Led flashlights to appreciate those dark rooms and tall ceilings, Keep up the good journey, your respect for items & buildings from the past is much respected.

Hola Maureno y Remon!! 🙋😘😘🇨🇱✌️

Hehe, that dark ceiling is not made of wood, but stucco(plaster painted) which imitates wood. The furniture is in such great condition, those beds and wardrobes, and I assume its in neorococo style from the 2nd half of the 19th century, but they are still very valuable as antiques especially in that superb condition :) The ”large sword” looks more like a lance for jousting on horseback :)

I can't believe how fantastic this explore (and bonus) was!! I'm 97% sure this is my favorite of all the great videos you have done. The furniture! What craftmanship it took to carve all those 3 dimensional details! A lot of the ceilings were not wood, but plaster painted like wood. You can tell that where the plaster fell, the edges were thin and showed some white plaster. I've tried to wood grain some painted tables and it is . . . HARD to get it right. In the kitchen the little half circle scoop is called a melon baller. You can get perfect little melon balls for an eye catching tray of fruit. I thought the pigs were adorable, but am glad you didn't get attacked! Of course, the little bats were cute. Glad none got tangled in your hair. Thank you so much for this 1 hour + video of such a beautiful place with so many beautiful pieces of furniture. The wine barrels, etc., in the basement was certainly a wonderful bonus! Your Spanish Series deserves to win an award!!

Ohhh Maureno & Remon, you have done it once again!!! You have taken me back to that era & made me see how life was for the people who shared their lives & business. Me, who is handicapped & will never be able to go & experience this for myself, this was an magnificent adventure to share with you! I was in tears watching this gorgeous video! Rather than everything being in a museum, they should make this wonderful place a museum!!! Everything was exquisite!!! The wooden furniture, some with marble tops, the large China cabinets, wardrobes, desks & beds. Every inch of this property, ceilings, wainscoting, light fixtures & columns were priceless!!! I absolutely adored the church...& the alter, breathtaking!!! I am sooo very sad that a family member hasn’t taken over this property & kept it up & kept the family legacy alive😞 I only wish that a museum would come in, put on a new roof, restored the decayed ceilings & allow the public to enjoy this epic place!!! Thank you for sharing this marvelous, unforgettable adventure with us!!! I absolutely loved & adored it!!! God bless you both🙏❤️

When I was watching am imagine way back then living there in its glorious time, antiques where clean and shinny, the rooms where neat and perfect done, beds with fresh linens and maids ready to please for whatever you need to make your stay comfortable. Look out throughout the window and see that beautiful breathtaking green and color garden with plethora of exotics plants from all over the world, a table in the middle nicely set with bouquet of roses a tea 🫖 set ready to be served. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE‼️ Disregard the dangerous looking for the entrance MY GOSH ITS WORTH IT‼️

What a beautiful place. I loved the wide hallways and large rooms, ( the pink ceiling). The cupboards and furniture were amazing. I also loved bed the flooring throughout-such vast open spaces and rooms. For me , the older the structure, the better, the more interesting. I always hope that you can state the date of the structure. I am not very knowledgeable, but you frequently point out pictures and comment on these as paintings, when they are mostly prints, especially the black and white ones. Paintings have colours and textures and oil paintings have a gloss of sorts. Not important l know but any of the black and white pictures aren’t paintings! Thank you so much for sharing!!

Woow, Maureno and Remon, I am still nearly speechless after having watched your lifestream! - This palace was certainly one of the absolute prime locations of your memorable road trip to Spain and Portugal. - I was so perplexed to see all that still beautiful luxurious furniture, the colourful paintings and portraits, the masterfully decorated ceilings, etc. etc . - What a location! - It was like a time capsule! Although there were some traces of decay visible, it is still breathtakingly beautiful. - A lot of the furniture has probably been produced in the late 19th century in a "neo"-style with very elaborate woodcarvings, like neo baroque, being so typical for this period, which is called "historism", because they imitated historical older periods, but providing the items nevertheless with an own interpretation. - I loved following you in mind and had somehow the feeling that you both were my tourguides in that amazing location. - Wonderful explore video, which I highly enjoyed watching, dear friends! - So, I wish you a lot more inspiring and exciting explores, wherever you go (hopefully also again in Switzerland!?!). Take care, and stay safe. - Lots of blessings, peace and kindest regards. - Have a peaceful and restful Sunday!

Amazing! I kept thinking how long it must have taken to carve the furniture! Love the wine cellar. Thanks Ramon for the lesson on how they cork the bottles, had no idea.

This is one of my favorites! That little ball scoop is for scooping melon balls. Also the chemical smell and bottles of cleaner in that one drawer in the dining room could have been silver cleaner - silver had to be polished often. I remember polishing our silver as a kid before holidays and it smelled

Great explore! The tools in the kitchen were a whisk, meat mallet, and melon baller. The odd box you thought was for knives was for silver flatware. A lot of the chandeliers looked like they were originally gas then changed to electricity.

Awe!!!! That was a pet piggy!! He was asking you guys for treaties... definitely a pet piggy he likes humans ❤️ pigs are actually quite dangerous if their owner isn't nice all the time, they can bite through wellies, I had a pet one that went feral, she grew tusks and long shaggy fur and tried to eat me lol 😂

Beautiful!! The scarves you found in the drawer are vestments that the priest wears when saying Mass. The name of it is maniple and is worn over the left arm. The square scarf is called a pall cover and is placed over the chalice after the mass is over.

I'm thinking the priests' scarves, being there in such a quantity, were created there by some seamstress. Yes?

I was so afraid y’all were gonna fall thru the floor, or that the ceiling was gonna fall on your heads! I felt like I was really there with y’all that I could even smell the dust and the mold😖 my nose even started to sting! I’m so glad y’all wear masks and gloves. Y’all should also wear Long sleeves, Long pants, and a Hoodie...for those bats😱 Y’all are so courageous! Stay safe 🙏❣️& Peace from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado

Whoa! Definitely an epic explore! From pigs to magnificent interiors to the wine making business! The “marble” you pointed out in the chapel was actually wood, painted to look like marble. A couple of the ceilings that looked wooden were actually painted plaster that looks like wood. Definitely a craft used in the ages ago- champagne taste-beer budget! Great ending to an epic trip through Spain and Portugal! Well done Maureno and Remon!
