Today I search for another classic car, and a trip out to the country leads me to a forest full of classic cars! What will I find?! Watch and see! PS I think the impala is a 1962 not a 64...

I have to agree with you. 55-57 Buicks are stunning. Late 50's cruisers are all beautiful to me. Big fins inspired by the space race of the time

I'm showing my age. I remember seeing a lot of those cars running. To see them now, in a yard old and neglected, breaks my heart. Cars of today aren't as beautiful as the cars in that yard.

Where I live these classic American cars are very popular, so I see a lot of them running currently. Go into town, twenty minutes away, on a nice sunny day, and you'll see 5 - 8 of them easily. They're lovely cars, I get in a good mood every time I see them :-)

1955/56/57 was a wonderful era, every was the best the Detroit........This beauty is not a fix up, it is restored to perfection...Look at that old truck behind the Chrysler...........I was blessed to own a 56 Pontiac Chief, 56 Ford Crown Vic and a 61 Pontiac and a 64 Merc. Comet. Great cars.......Most of those cars are need of saving........I like the old Plymouth with the popped hood............There was the green truck with its wood rails................A fun day, surprised that one of your two boys isn't a car buff. Blessings, a great time with you and your family.

My dad had a 1964 Chevy Belair station wagon. 3 on the tree, overdrive, cruise control. I learned to drive on that. My first car was a 1963 Impala, bought it as a parts car for $25 and found it ran so I just drove it.

My Dad gave me his 1965 Mustang for graduation. I drove that car for ever. I wish I still had it. The Mustang you are looking at doesn't look like a Mustang to me. I like the Impala, that's cool. That old Pontiac would be cool restored. The 53 Desoto was cool. The two door Plymouth wagon would be cool to fix. But out of all of them, I would take the 57 Chevy. That car is gorgeous when it's in mint condition and a real re-seller!

Wow! That Frontenac could be a real gem. Its Wiki page indicates only 9536 were ever made and the wagons were a late addition to the line. Searching images I found only one 2-door wagon.
@Elizabeth-rq1vi4 жыл бұрын
The Frontenac is worth restoring. My father restored vintage cars (mostly 1930’s Dodges)- the newest car was a 55! I’ve seen cars in worse shape that the Vintage Car Club members (including Dad) have hauled out of bushes so the Frontenac is in decent condition😂! If you have contacts (in the classic/vintage car clubs, there are magazines that sell “new old” parts. Bless those small rural gas stations that super stocked up on parts then folded years later & didn’t toss the parts! If you do belong to one of those clubs then you know all this. Space to work is the big thing, when Dad died (age 92) he was working on a ‘56 side step Dodge pickup. Try selling a truck in parts! We did get it sold but took a bit. My SIL’s farm is her husband’s family farm & like most farms, they have a scrap yard- they have a navy blue 67 Camero SS. Unfortunately (& I did voice this distance) someone used it as a shooting target! Blasphemous! I had thought of getting Dad to redo it for me back in the 80’s but it’s too late now. I have seen worse targets...but a ‘67 Cameo SS??! Dad had a navy blue Camero SS that he bought new in 1967-his midlife car instead of a new station wagon.

the Frontanac body parts can be sourced out as Falcon stuff. as you mentioned the trim parts are the only diference. there are a lot of Falcon parts places here in the upper 48. I once owned a 1964 Falcon sprint 260 v8 four speed, bucket seats and console. it was my daily driver for about 6 yrs and then served another 6 yrs as a drag racer. then I built a front engined slingshot dragster. but that's a story for another time.

Couldn't help but think of all the vintage cars we saw in Cuba last year - they make their own replacement parts because it's impossible to buy new/ upcycled ones. "Yank Tanks" is a great documentary talking about old US cars in Cuba.

Reupholstering the rear seat around the old fabric on the Buick suggests there is plenty more shortcuts and bodges hidden under the surface, the headliner rear pillar panel was a mess also, I know it's not your first rodeo but be very wary.

@leonarddaniels62214 жыл бұрын
Alex the Impala is a 62, has the pointed front fenders like the 63 and the slightly sloped rear like the 61, hope that helps. I agree that the Mustang has the most potential for the least expense although I am not a huge Ford fan. If I were able to tackle a project it would have to be a 56 Chevy 2 door post.

In 1960 my mother drove a 1957 Buick Special....the steering wheel column bolts sheered one day as she pulled in the driveway - the wheel just kept spinning round and round. @danielburns15563 жыл бұрын
Hello, Mr. Arriola, I am wondering if a junkyard can be on a person's home property? Or if a home such as a trailer or house can be on a junkyard? I am researching general information about old junkyards and scrapyards for a writing project of mine. Would be able and willing to lend some knowledge, I have a few questions I can find answers to. Would be a huge help! If you don't mind answering a few questions about junkyards, please e-mail me dannyburns 2 3 @ gmail . com (no spaces). I can really use some help from someone with experience, I can't seem to find answers anywhere else, just a few questions for my story, thanks!

A 4 door Special in just one color without power steering or power brakes in that condition is worth about 12K US on it's best day. The rechroming is a good thing as that can cost 10K US just by itself. And the fact that the owner has both J Bars in good condition is nothing short of a miracle.
