This was my Great Grand Mother's home in Arthurette. She left it to one of her children (Allan MacKellar). I remember visiting when I was a kid. He and I watched Blue Jays games together on that couch. The cheque book you found belonged to my father (AE Fawcett). It's rather sad how run down this home is now. My great grandmother used to make those quilts, so it makes sense that the fabric is there. She was a wonderful lady that was a school teacher. Unsure if you noticed, but there is a tombstone on the property as well.

Modest, cute little country home. I loved the custom doorframe between the livingroom and dining room. Lots of natural light in the rooms too. Something about this one is very creepy to me. I think you’re right about the chains going to the wood burning stove...interesting find. I really think people squat in theses abandoned homes and leave things that have earlier dates that make it look like the house hasn’t been abandoned as long as maybe it really has...just a thought. I’d love to have the old furniture to paint or refinish. The pieces of cloth or material could have been to make a quilt.

The house, I'm sure was once a beautiful house that any owner would be proud of, now looked dilapidated, as though was on the verge of collapsing. The front porch attached to the main house was falling apart, especially the wooden flooring. The flooring was totally damaged that caused the floor to cave in, pulling down part of the roof above as well. The main house was structurally in good shape. The wooden staircase @ 1:49 still intact, looked beautiful and was spared by vandals was a surprise. However, after being abandoned for so long, I'm sure vandals had a hold of the house and ransacked the house. What was left behind was a total mess, with things and all sorts of items, like books and magazines all strewn on the floor throughout the house. Some old sofas, book shelves, bed and other old furniture were also left behind. I think, if the house is not demolished, it would just be a matter of time before the house collapsed on it's own caused by the natural element. Thanks Riddim Ryder.
