Yet again giving me goosebumps. That transition from the origins of the home through to its current family mode was really nice, particularly the owner connecting back to the architect's family. To me these homes disprove the idea that modernism is detached from humanity.

I grew up in the Los Feliz/Silverlake area, my family having first moved there in the ‘30s. I’ve known many great architectural homes and later specialized in the sale of them. It’s been a mission to preserve and honor such legacy houses. How beautifully presented with such obvious love and respect.

We don't have anything so magical as this in Australia.. They've lost this MCM warmth and touch... it's all brutal architecture now.

ugh - best channel ever. I've watched every video numerous times. This is super - love it. Those stairs are quite extraordinary especially during a rain but hey, at least you're always going to be in shape! :). Me, I'd never leave - it's a forever home. I would wonder though if I would need to install an elevator or something someday to get me from the car to the front door. I cannot imagine being in my 80s many many years from now and traipsing up the stairs. oy - my knees! I'm soooooo glad you saved the house from being turned into a remodel - another white and grey monstrosity - you did good.

Although it’s a mid century house, I like how it doesn’t “scream” vintage all over. Yes there’s a vintage vibe but it’s it’s made with balance, it’s not overwhelming. It’s humble, if that makes sense

As a Swede I'm astounded by the open design handrail on the deck that sits so far above ground. Are you allowed to build like this in the US? Would be terrified to have children and pets there. Cool house and views though
@celebutanteАй бұрын
Definitely not. But the only ways that would get enforced would be if the place was re-sold, or homeowner's insurance inspected. I definitely ran into that with homeowner's policy on my place - they made me add rails and do some modifications.
