Join me as I explorer abandoned places and do a little prospecting for gold in Arizona. In this video I drive to several interesting places and find a very cool Javelina (Peccary) skull. It's a long video because it was a long day. BTW... It looks like a have video clips from two different days mixed up in this video. Tomorrow will be the same. I dun goofed.

Watching these video's a person really gets an idea of how vast that area is. What a desolate dry place. It makes me thirsty just watching you. I hope you find a whole lot of nuggets, but even if you don't, it has been a wonderful journey. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure and for all of the sound advice.

Windmills are common in my area when I was young. (yesterday) They work whenever there is a breeze they cost little to run and maintain. There are long stroke ones short stroke ones. Depends on the depth they need to pump from. I saw one on a well that only made 25 gals and hour. No other pump could have done that in those days.

Aquachigger, you actually found my dry wash pile; I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I pulled a 1 gram nugget out of that bedrock using a Pro-gold Prospector dry washer with an Echo 5lb bucket gas blower. I was there for about 3 hrs

If you come across a jabalina skull , you might check out the teeth. Gold flakes collect along their gum line when they root around out in the desert. Get your pin pointer out and see if it gives you a nice signal.

Arroyos are the name of those dry beds which you warned us about earlier of flash flooding. Next time you are in the SW look around at the mesas and such and think of it all covered with the ancient Western Sea. It’s so cool to break off a piece of rock, over a mile and a half in elevation, and discover sea shells!

Many years ago, my dad found some sandstone overhang cliffs that had deer tracks and other animal tracks upside down in the cliff. So strange to look straight up and see these. My parents and brother staked claims somewhere off the Ariavipa road on the Safford side of the mountains. We lived in central Arizona a bit to the east part. My dad worked in the copper mine there. We used to always drive in the hills above our house and not only beautiful but so very interesting. Lot of history in that area too. Thanks for making this video Chig!

A herd of javelina tip over trash cans in my neighborhood. We all know not to leave trash cans out overnight! Or put pumpkins out in the fall. . .they love pumpkins. We hear them coming down the street at night after it cools off. . .click, click, click, click, click. They can be quite dangerous especially if they have young with them. Love the AZ videos!

So awsome, I had planned to hit arizona desert in March. My bucket list is to see cactus in bloom. And try out my newly acquired gold big pro and see what I can find. With my luck I will find the rest of the bird shot I missed. I was worried about claims and how to avoid them. If I can find Bill Southern I think I ,will ask him to take me and my son out to look for tiny nuggies. May be this fall early winter. Was nice to see the reality of the desert. Looks hot dry and dusty. Lol Lol the clammpets. I can relate, my house looks like the clampets, before the mansion.

We moved to Az. 6 years ago and live not too far from where you have been exploring. One of the first thing I checked on was insect types in the area as I have an allergy to bees, wasps, hornets and such. According to what I found virtually all honey bees in Az. are now Africanized and their hives and swarms should be avoided. Africanized bees will react to sound and when they attack they ave very aggressive and can be deadly.
@davidmtwigg
@davidmtwigg 6 жыл бұрын
Desert Rat not just sound. Vibration, minor movement, even odor can/will set them off. Chigg was lucky. Arizona Wildlife Services advises that you immediately retreat the instant you detect a bee hive anywhere in the state.

Hi Beau, you dun caught me deep in thought again! Great to see you again this evening *Edit * I’ve now watched it through and I’m pretty sure you put a video up the other day showing the little prospecting team, dude had rocking boots on,..proper prospector boots :) And great to see you’ve not abandoned your Civil War history I’d never thought about draft avoiders and those in fear of their current location being the ones so determined to cross the area, It helps explain one part of the migration, these people where often just getting by as small holders and for father to go fight in a war they neither knew nor cared about would bring hardship so bad that it was worth the risk for the chance of freedom on the other side. You got me thinking again brother, thank you. Charlie UK

We have an Old Stage Road here in Colorado Springs. It used to be a road that took you over the front range of the Rockies to a little mining town called Cripple Creek from Colorado Springs, but its closed down now. Its curious that there's a road down in Arizona of the same name. Are they related? Probably not, but its interesting lol.

Depending on how your go home. There's an amazing scenic route that goes into new Mexico. I almost hit a cow because they free range there. I was going around a hair pin turn and all the sudden I go over these metal pipes. There was about 10 cows in the road. I couldn't move them. Anyways be sure to fill up before entering that stretch of you decide to go that way. There's big yellow signs telling you to turn around and fill up because the next gas station was, I think, 230 miles. Anyone know what highway that is?
