Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today we’ll be exploring a recently abandoned nursing home that amazingly still has its power on. Throughout our explore we uncover finds from medical supplies to wheelchairs and even biohazardous waste still left behind. Join my boyfriend Sonny and I as we make our way through this location!

It makes me so sad that some of that equipment wasn’t donated when the home was abandoned (especially like shower chairs and wheelchairs) because that is expensive and a lot of elderly people need it!

I agree! But sadly in the US (or at least here in my state) its illegal to resell medical equipment, and I imagine most of its classified as that. I don't know about donating, but I imagine there's also so many walls up with that as well.

I think the power being on makes it so much more ominous. Like someone is going to come around the corner at any moment. Thanks for the cool explore!

I work in A nursing home and this breaks my heart to see all this equipment go to waste and left to rot when it could be put to such use, such a shame

it really did feel like such a waste, especially seeing the piles of walkers and wheelchairs

It's a shame that this building wasn't repurposed. It could easily become a rehab centre. So many buildings, just left to rot, in the US. The equipment could help so many who can't afford wheelchairs etc.

The blinking lights are actually call lights for the residents. They can pull a cord or press a button to get the aides or nurses attention if they need something! Super cool that those still work

@ 4:29 - that is called a heel boot. For residents with poor skin (caused by poor nutrition, diabetes, immobility) and this prevent their heels from creating pressure ulcers/injuries. They’re to be worn when the resident is in bed :)

Also, the culture swabs are used for wounds. The purpose is to see whether there’s an infection to a wound :)

if skin breakdown, which is preventable, does occur at these facilities, then they are liable for the costs to repair that person's body part and medicare // medicaid will not pay for that medical care. this can be a really costly mistake and could also jeopardize medical licenses. In many places, like the hospital where i worked, they had entire pressure ulcer // bed sore prevention programs and protocols.

Yes those lights are call lights! There will usually be a light at the beginning of each hall and then over the doors so you know which hall and room is calling!

At 4:33 it called an offloading boot or at least that's what the nursing home I work at called them it's to help relieve pressure if they have sores on their feet or just issues with their feet in general I was a CNA for 6 years

You should be wearing respirators and gloves when you go inside places if you want to stay safe. Mold, asbestos, and medical waste can be hazardous.

The ringing is the call light. The call light is pushed by the resident, it lights up outside the door and usually in the middle of the corridor and then it rings at the nurses station so she can ask what is it the resident needs. If the light is red outside a residents room that means they pulled the emergency cord in their bathroom.

i also don’t always have extensive history to talk about on a location. for this one it was really quite simple: opened up, faced financial trouble and had to close its doors and send residents to other facilities

Please be careful in nursing homes .I am concerned you could pick up a disease. Some had COVID and other diease's.This one has gross body fluids and not the best clean up done for its closing.

Medical equipment is very expensive and should donate them and yes I was a aid for 17+ years and we had to clean chair at night b cause food and drink build up , most places that leave stuff bankruptcy are fail to pass medicare survey many beds and wheel chairs are paid for Medicaid and Medicare and private insurance
