Remembering as a child, back in the 70'-80's, they mined the coral for people's fish tanks. As well as, coral was sold at beach-side gift stores or shoppes. (All down the southeastern states.)

I have wondered what these storied reefs looked like and I profoundly thank you for this report. These are the baby corals that will be planted on reefs in other places to take root and grow. Thanks to Fidel for making this area a protected area & not letting commercial fishermen fish all the animals out.

It seems that the point of this story is ...leave them alone and the reef will do fine. The lion fish seemed to be one of the few negatives. 🇨🇺🐬🐋🦈

We can in part thank propaganda films like Jaws. People became scared of them and the oceans, thus leading ppl to not think the oceans are valuable.

I'm sure MANY people want to support the environment...but, make electric vehicles, wind power, and solar power AFFORDABLE for everyone. It IS a hopeless endeavor when we all can't help! 😞

Not in Cuba, they might not have many things compared to other countries... But they are not dying of hunger. Just take a look at Haiti or the Dominican Republic (both intervened by the US!) and they're failed countries.

@@enanitoblue You don’t know what u r talking about. I am Cuban and I have to spend a lot of money sending food for my parents. Breakfast for kids water with sugar. Lunch only rice no meds the hospitals are filthy and lack of everything. You have not idea what is going on there.

He actually did a lot of great things. Their healthcare system is amazing. Their research on cancer is top notch--I believe they developed a vaccine for lung cancer due to the cancer research center that FC set up. Don't believe all the hate and propaganda the US spews about countries that refuse to let themselves be controlled by the US.
