I absolutely loved Rivers of Light 😢 it really surprises me that it wasn't popular. As for DisneyQuest... I have no words. I can't even imagine the conversation that took place about getting rid of such an amazing and inventive attraction and replacing it with something so niche.

@@orlandoparksguyMaybe a new ride that is kind of similar or just bring back stitch’s great escape Disney. Oh I miss that ride so much. I don’t understand why it closed when lilo and stitch is a very popular franchise of the company. I know it probably never will come back but I can still wish that it will return and hope that one day a new ride attraction will go there.

I was torn on this one. Part of the exit area and gift shop are now used as seating for Auntie Gravities. And the attraction space is a Cast break room. I have to put it in the sequel!

Just some of the missing off the top of my head: the original Muppets Store in Hollywood Studios, Amani Village Traders next to Refreshment Outpost (they've painted the doors with murals but haven't opened the shop back up), The Gift Stop, the small store located next to the old Guest Relations area at the front right of Epcot (closed Jan. 2020 and never reopened).

I don’t think this is very common knowledge, but many of the World Showcase pavilions are run by contracting companies, not Disney. I believe I heard the company which runs the Morocco pavilion stores and restaurants is no longer operating, so that’s why the pavilion is mostly empty today.

I miss the health pavilion most. I think it is a beautiful building with potential. To me, a great idea would be to bring back the Mickey and friends,in their spacesuits, dance show that was popular in the 1980s and 90s in the odyssey building. The building can fit a lot of people, especially in bad weather. That would be maybe a temporary area to have periodic shows throughout the day, till imagineers establish an attraction. Or permanent/ long term if the show is successful with positive feedback. That show would be perfect for not a high budget, and work to go into it. One of the best things, I think, would be, that it would bring nostalgia to the guests who were lucky to experience the Mickey and friends show in the odyssey building. The main goal of this show/attraction would be similar a similar concept to Disney Junior dance party in Hollywood studios, where little ones can get their energy out. Or maybe just revamp it and put in a quick service restaurant where you can have a quick meal and a show like originally in the odyssey building. Generally, that pavilion is good real estate that should not be wasted.

i’m aware that a lot of these spaces are now cast member break room or office areas. specifically the magic kingdom news station, at least as of 2022, the area was used to expand the break room for cast members who worked at the park entrance. i assume most of the places that haven’t opened had the same fate.

“I don’t know why. Indiana jones has a huge following.” Oh I know. Likely the bar was made in preparation for the slam dunk they thought they might get with the latest Indiana jones movie but when it’s reception proved more icy then expected and it didn’t rake in the numbers they wanted they likely pulled the plug especially since it’s possible they were hoping for more movies and this to be a notable draw.

@@orlandoparksguy Ultimately I just think that’s why the bar closed. Disney I think was banking on it being a hit but as with many things in 2023 they mishandled it. Especially on marketing. For whatever reason I didn’t see a whole ton of ads for Disney movies when in the past I used to get them and they used to be interesting but when I did see ads like for wish they didn’t do a great job of appealing to me. I also thought that if I wanted to watch the movie later I could just watch it on Disney plus and I suspect that was a significant part of why it flopped like it did because many thought well I’ll just watch it at home on Disney plus
