Am not Omani nor Muslim, but if you want to understand the Kenyan coast it behooves you to learn about Omani sultanate in EA and pre historic Kaya cultures of EA (East Afrika). Fort Jesus, is truly world class of a historic destination, Afrikan, European, and Asian trade routes before globalization; the silk road influences on EA.

As an African Arab, the only segment that can be said as untrue is the part where the Arabs were worse than the Portugese. Remember the 1st slave to be free was Black in our Islamic religion and was given the Honor to do the call to prayer that you hear every mosque peforrm to this day until the end of time. Coming to the shores of Africa and lying about coming for Christ but having other intentions is beyond evil. Carving those coral into rooms and hallways and passageways, not mentioning the torture they went through is a little play on history. Alot of the tour guides will stick to the knowledge provided to them, but it is the British and Portuguese that sod them in chains with disgrace and humility. Not saying they aren't bad apples in the Arabs that came through, but Arabs came with the religion of Islam and with our religion, all man is created equal and killing and abusing slaves or captives is no where in our religious beliefs or scriptures'. But to each his own belief, amazing video , glad you enjoyed the tour.

Oh...he forgot to mention that the Portuguese found established swahili city kingdoms (mainly ports) all over the East African Coast and bombarded the cities down to ashes and captured several Swahili kings and beheaded them and took their heads all the way to Goa,India to prove a point. and he also forgot to mention that the swahili kings asked for help from Yarubids Sultan of Oman who brought in Balochi and Arab warriors who fought together with their Swahili brothers united by religion against the Portuguese till they left. He forgot to mention a couple of things I guess.

Also the educational system has been altered to hate or have some sort of negativity towards the arabs ( cuz in schools kids that learn the altered history given to them start throwing words to the arab students like '' look at what you arabs did to us '' , but be not as vengeful towards the Portuguese and British etc.

That's unfortunate brother. The Europeans definitely played a major role in the evils of the past as well.

This tour guide isn't accurate. He said Africans didn't have religion, which is false. Ethiopians and Egyptians were Christians way before Europeans started to colonise Africa. Also I disagree with him saying Arabs were worse slave owners. He makes it sound like the Europeans weren't bad by saying that, which is disgusting

I appreciate you bringing up these important points. It's crucial to challenge misinformation and promote a more accurate understanding of history. Thank you for being vigilant! I didn't agree with the part about Africans not having religion. And both slavery was horrible.

@@TopHillPod from the beginning how the Portuguese arrived in mombasa and how was mombasa look at the time, at that time when Portuguese arrived.mombasa was flourishing people we're already civlized for many hundreds years back ,they were suprise to find out people have mirros and dress well and using perfume. They kill alot of swahili people for three hundred years until we get fed up with them and kick them out . The other parts arabs did not do slave trade in East Africa, the arabs use to come to east african for thousands years back before Christianity and islam they use mansoon winds to travel back and fourth, tha arabs they intermarried with swahili people they didn't in slave them, that's why upto know you'll see alot arabs resides in coast of Africa. Otherwise we would have kick them out. This just a glimpse of the story
