My brother worked on a barge once. It was based on the Mississippi River. He said it was hard work, and he was required to sign up for several months at a time. The money was really good, but once he was done, he never wanted to do it again. Later in life, he got his PHD. in English and was a college professor. He is retired now.

Normally barge work is 30 days on 30 days off. It'd definitely be worth junking. #1 steal I'm sure. A lot of trips and work. But b good $$. ❤❤

@babykisses4me He worked on the barge back in the '70's. It might have been different back then. I was told he had to stay on for a couple of months to work the job. Maybe they went to 30 days on and 30 off in later years. I wish I could ask him now, but he has dementia and remembers nothing of his past. 😟

Why does the county let those vessels sit there and pollut the environment? If the owners won't come remove them then the county should hire someone and send the bill to the owners.

Hey Jeremy did it have a tag on the barge you should've called it in and just see what the police would've said about the barge scap metal and mini boat off the side of the beach. Just think could've salvage that cabin boat and used it for yourself and build a wrecker boat.

Didn't know the mighty Mississippi River in Memphis had flying carp. Learn something new everyday
@xinx-fn89732 ай бұрын
They’re Asian carp I believe, highly invasive and a massive problem along the Mississippi River

If they would have gotten one of those barges and put in some modifications it would be a great tool to get it cars out of the water.

Love Nug trying to catch the fish. He would have done better with a fishing pole or a net.

That looks like an old crude oil tanker. The twin engines were the pumps that emptied the contents. Coal/grain barges look different.

Those engines look like some Detroit diesel motors probably worth some decent coin lol

It's a shame that those are left to rot like that. Plus what is that doing to the environment?!
@vickyferrier42656 ай бұрын
Scrap the barge use the money for searches or to pull cars from the river. Double benefit that way. Environment gets cleaned up and you get money to help your cause.

OMG i never knew y’all were in my neck of the woods , I live in Memphis, glad y’all came down here, but yea it’s no surprise that there’s abandoned barges here on the river , its not known for being the cleanest city , all though I do wish the city cared more about it.

Looks like a homeless persons place. That's too clean to be abandoned.
