I love touring the UK on my motorbikes but this year I seem to have always caught rough weather, even in the height of our "Summer". So in a quest to find some decent weather, I jumped on an aeroplane South to meet with the nice folk at Canary Motorcycle Tours on the island of Gran Canaria where the weather is great for riding a motorcycle all year round. I have joined their tour on several occasions as i am a regular visitor on Gran Canaria. Absolutely gorgeous riding. Martin is one of the best tour guides i ever seen for bike riding. The guy is an instructor and gives you instant confidence when leading you through amazing landscapes. Perfect weather, thousands of corners. It's any bikers dream.

That was lovely, amazing scenery, I would love to do that someday. My Friday night relax after a work week is a good scotch and touring vicariously via TMF. November is Canada is getting a little chilly.

GSA is just a first class bike, the CRF I just can’t get enough of it....it just makes me smile when riding it. It’s so easy to get out of the cave lol. Looking forward to a natter at MCL on Monday mate.

Great and very useful video, I love the Canaries and last year on Lanzarote hired a 600 Hornet for 5 days, which got me to places on the Island I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Love it, this sort of trip totally on my radar. Epic roads with guaranteed weather. I’ve mapped out a few trips now to the south of France in my mind. EasyJet to Nice then hire a bike and into the mountains within an hour. Weekend trip totally possible. Must do it!!!

Yeah this is an easy option, you literally just turn up, they provide the bike, kit and guide and off you go and ride! What's not to like?

Thank you for posting this. I’m absolutely going to look into this. My wife likes the idea and there is nothing like exploring other countries on a motorcycle. For sure during our winter season which at the moment in Minnesota is -18 Fahrenheit.

Great video! I was born in Gran Canaria so all those roads are familiar to me and bring back memories of rides on my first bike, a Honda CBX250. The white trees you were spotting are eucalyptus. Loads of them in the island. Have fun in Gran Canaria, enjoy the sun and make sure you try the "papas arrugadas con mojo picón".

Did the week tour in September this year. Blown away by the scenery and the diversity of the terrain. One bit of advice is that if your new to riding then get some experience before you head to G. C. The roads are very challenging and you need to know what your doing. Other than that, keep it to yourself coz it's amazing! Many thanks to Martin and joy for an amazing trip!

Great video footage of Gran Canaria. I've cycled loads of these roads. The gc-606 know to cyclists as "The valley of tears". You have introduced me to a few new roads that I haven't done yet. But I will definitely be doing this year. I have also driven a few of them in the car. Which was a total nightmare. Thanks for sharing your Gran Canaria experience. It truly is an epic place to ride!

Can't believe I'm seeing this! I did that road last week only the other way around - from Playa de Mogan on GC200 past Presa de la Ninas on GC605 then down to Vecindario on GC60/65 via San Bartolome. I love this road - sadly, I didn't have my GS with me so was driving a Fiat 500 rental which took the edge off it a bit... Nice to know about the guy doing the tours on GC though.

I love riding in Northern Spain; two years ago a group of us did a weeks touring in the Picos De Europa - the people, roads, food and weather all fantastic, anyone getting the chance to ride there should take it.

Totally agree with the quality of videos but who needs TV it’s obsolete I dropped cable tv 3 years ago and don’t miss it. I have found better viewing right here on channels like this. Just need a system to get people consistently compensated for content. Keep up the great content an quality of videos. Really enjoying the Arctic Circle Trip.

Great video, I've been to the island twice this year & ridden with Canary Motorcycle Tours, 4 days the first time I went & 2 days the second. Planning on a few more trips next year. The videos just do not do the island justice, it is something that has to be experienced first hand & Martin n Joy are a great couple. I would say to anyone thinking about doing this, don't think just book it!!

Excellent ride on very good roads, my favourite kind of riding - smooth roads with heaps of corners, would be great on a sportbike if you were familiar with the route. Looking forward to part 2 :-)

Looks amazing, a tad similar to the Pacific side of Baja. Talking of Mexico, I recently rode Copper Canyon which ought to be a bucket list ride for all adventure bikers - it makes the Grand Canyon look like an RV tourist trap.

Amazing place - I always wondered why others repeatedly visited Gran Canaria, assuming it was just convenient and warm. But I bet few see much of the island beyond the beaches except for an occasional coach trip.

I rode a scooter from Maspalomas to Las Palmas on a lads holiday at the tender age of 17. It got me hooked on two wheels and motivated me to get my motorcycle licence. You should consider the Adriatic coast of Croatia/Bosnia/Montenegro as a future destination. Sublime scenery, weather and roads. Madeira is another spectacular place to get away for some winter sun that isn't too far from the UK.

Yeah it is popular with the locals on sports bikes for sure - those edges look a bit serious for me to go large...but get yourself over there and fill yer boots!

Very nice. I did the Glacier National Park Montana in August. Amazing. Much slower speed limit though. I had the unfaired version of that bike. Nice bike to return to after 30 years non-biking. He’s going too fast for me. Minis 16 this morning. Focus on skiing. Life’s tough

Yet another place to and to the, hopefully one day I'll ride there , list. Many thanks for taking us along. However I must disagree, I beleive those roads are what sports bikes are built for. How glorious it would be to carve those corners on a Panigale.

I think Gran Canaria and Tenerife are the most popular, followed by Lanzagrotty (which I quite liked when I visited many years ago...)

Simply amazing vistas! And such an energy boost, I bet. I'll be visiting the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura in a fortnight and hoping to find a bike rental over there. Not sure they've got any companies offering the same kind of tours over there.. Would be lovely though. The only trouble I see with these tours is that you can't stop whenever you please say to take a pic or simply a longer look at the sights.. And the cost :D Can't wait to see the next episode!

I lived in Gran Canaria for a year and a half back in the mid 90's. For most of that time I lived in Vecindario, the first place you went through in the video (It was cheap). I don't think I saw rain in that entire tome, although in the North and in the mountains they get some rain.

Wow, what scenery! That looks like a great ride, though I have to say if it was me I'd want to make more stops and savor the views a bit more, but I also didn't see many pull-offs on the road. I've seen quite a few videos of the Canary's from some of the world sailing channels I watch here on the youtubes. It's a popular jumping off spot for crossing the Atlantic on the way to the Caribbean. There's also an epic video by Seen Through Glass who was on Tenerife test driving some McLaren's. Definitely a popular spot that I've only learned about in recent years.

I hired a bike last january and rode around that island. It get's very cold up in the mountains. There are speed cameras on the motorway, fortunately I was travelling below the speed limit.
