It definitely has an old school eastern block, communist vibe around the hotel area. And I know this because I traveled around the eastern communist block as a very young person and as a teenager so I know what I’m talking about. But I’ve ventured out and gone to the local pubs and restaurants here and it’s really nice cool community. It’s just the visual that from an American/Western European perspective that makes it look Russian. Food is phenomenal and let’s buy some cheap onions!
