Pokémon Platinum was perfection. This was my childhood game, next to Emerald. Too many nostalgic memories seeing someone else go through their own saved file. Now it's my turn.

I absolutely agree. Gen 4 will forever be my favorite gen between Platinum & Soul Sliver. And that was the gen that produced Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky.

I remember being traumatized by the game Prince of Persia sand of time when they first show the under enemies. I was like 9 when I first played the game after seeing those undead for the first time I didn't play the game for like 2 weeks then I grew some balls and beat the game

The last time I replayed the game was during chuggaaconroy’s walkthrough of it then my game corrupted. Im so sad bc it had the perfect team (i finally caught the elusive feebas I was never able to catch as a child). Rip Milotic 😢

I opened up my Platinum game and it showed I had over 600 hours of gameplay. Like damn. Thats how hooked I was on this game and why I considered it to be my favorite out of the Pokemon games.

I got my copy of Platinum for my 7th birthday so it took me a little longer to defeat the game but I finished around 75 hours and I just got 150 hours on it yesterday, good memories.

Always so cool to look back on old game files and see what was going on. With Gen 4 I never EVER beat the game... the only gen I never beat. I hope one day we get a remake of it so I can finally beat it.

2008 was such a good year for me. I played platinum religiously. I wish I still had my original copy I put atleast 350 hours in. My wife and I loved doing the underground stuff together.

I remember that struggle of waiting for the english translations, especially for Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Man, the struggle of trying to get through a Japanese game is hard, not knowing what moves or what people are saying to you! haha.

I had that Toys 'r Us Dragonite at one point sadly it's long gone :( Besides being Lv 50 and the Cherish Ball there was nothing different about it. It had a normal moveset lol

I was asking myself how you managed too beat the entire game that fast in Japanese and I remembered that my 100s of file restarts on diamond would make it way easier to burn through the story. I actually bought the strategy guide for plat when it came out and beat the entire game in the first two days I had it. I got it on a Friday night and beat it on a Sunday night. I remember I was so excited to catch the legendary pokemon knowing what they were already so I was hungry for them. Needless to say plat was imo the second best pokemon game to ever be released. Obviously heart gold and soul silver are the best games but I will never forget the adventure I had and I'm glad I found your page I'm a little late to the party (3 years) but at 29 years old it's never to late to join the pokemon community. Thanks for the awesome content can't wait to "WATCH THEM ALL"

yooo when you were 11 you beat the game in 5 days? When I was 11 I would be on the way to the Pokemon League(after 30000) days holding a lvl 72 starter and 5 other lvl 20 pokemons.

I always loved Pokémon, but when I was a kid, a kid like me living in a 3rd rate country no allowance, no birthday money, never played anypokemon games on console, but I watch every single episodes in pokemon back then. Now I'm 21 years old, and yes I can afford buying stuffs now, I actually bought a 3ds and switch just to play Pokémon that I can't play when I was a kid, I have pc too, but playing pokemon on the go is so much better, but then covid-19 came.

Been playing it in Japanese since Diamond (prior to the English version coming out, repeated the process until Gen 6), ordered Emerald to go with it. Eventually went and got Gen 1/2 afterward. Have played as much in Japanese as I have in English. Used it to teach myself to read Hiragana and Katakana.

I still remember weeks before the game came out in Japan, i was in 6th grade and i was talking about it to a classmate from my school, who was a big pokémon fan during that time. then, in December of 2009 i bought Pokémon Platinum.

@@aquacius_ Probably my favorite gen after gen 5 and gen 3. Best route themes, second favorite OST, Good Pokémon (although almost everyone's team is the same). Good elite 4 and best champion. I'm not a big fan of the region because of the giant mountain and the weather but I really liked the game.

ShadowDragonGamer 476 when Pokémon Platinum was first announced in Japan sometime in April/Mai 2008, unfortunately can’t remember the exact month+day, the Japanese magazine CoroCoro showed the first footage/pictures from the new games, including this new form of Giratina. However, it was early beta footage and they changed a lot till the release in September 2008. You can probably still find the original leak/announcements of Pokémon Platinum in the internet. Probably on Serebii.net and on bulbapedia.

Pokémon Platinum was my first Pokémon game and it was my childhood it will forever remain my favorite Pokémon game If they make a remake of Platinum I will legitimately be sad if I don’t get curb stomped by the game especially against Cynthia
