This walk takes place in the Mabashi and Nishimabashi neighborhood areas in Matsudo, Chiba prefecture. We'll be checking out the side streets and alleys and see what life is like and what the homes look like in a sort of densely packed, small residential area outside of Tokyo. There's a lot of character and old charm in these simple side streets so it should be a lot of fun to explore.

Hi Cory! These streams always make us feel like we are there with you. I like that walking through the suburbs of Japan you get to see a mix of new and old houses and buildings side by side. And I love how easy you can get lost in these suburbs, so different to Australia!

I was in Tokyo last week. Because of you and your videos, I appreciated roaming the streets compared to going to highly commercialized places such as Shibuya. Looking at this video, I wish I could do more explorations soon. Your videos showing local stores and sites are what I look forward to. Please go to Kawasaki and do a video on BookOff Super Bazaar and the huge supermarket beside it. I just fell in love with Kawasaki. I have got to do more street explorations soon.

Bachi, to the owner of that poor dog. He def looked under-weight and mangy. I hate when I see dogs outside and chained up, ugh. :(

Mabashi is a dump. I know a couple of people who live there because it is really cheap but there is nothing there. I live in Ayase/Tokyo which is much better, hell Matsudo is far better than Mabashi, just a few stops away.

I think calling it a dump is a pretty harsh opinion for a relatively normal neighborhood. It looks and feels like so many other neighborhoods, inside and outside of Tokyo. It's not a dump by any means. Was it necessary to make this comment?

@@CoryMay81 Yes it was necessary to make this comment as it has less to offer in terms of shops, supermarkets than most neighbourhoods I have seen in my 16 years in Tokyo and Chiba. And the people i know who live there refer to itas a dump as well. And its not Matsudo, that is further along and has its own station, just like Mabashi.

Very weird but OK. It's not a run down place and it's clean, so to me, calling it a dump means it's just dirty and run down. That's why I'm just confused as to why it's being called that. If Mabashi is considered a dump using that criteria, then so many other places would be considered dumps as well.

@@CoryMay81 They call it a dump because compared to nearby areas such as Matsudo, Kashiwa, and Kanamachi there is a significant lack of places to go, hence the low rent price in the area. Lack of cafes , supermarkets and basic things most areas have. Obviously it is clean as it is Japan but that is not the reason it is called a dump.
