Hello! We’re Chesca & Ben, and we live full time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. We spent 6 long months converting our tiny home on wheels, turning her from a workhorse into a place we call home. At the beginning of 2020, we were chasing the winter sun around Spain and Portugal. But when the pandemic hit, we found ourselves back home and waiting it out on Chesca's mum's driveway. Life suddenly took on a different rhythm. But now, 6 months later, we're back on the road and ready to chase some adventure 🌍 🚐

We loved meandering through the back streets, off the tourist areas. That is where the real charm of Italian way of life is at its most visible, and where the best cafes can be found.

Good day my favourite beautiful KZfaq couple! I had a handyman who was from palmaro! He would always talk about it. It was so amazing to actually see it! Especially the cathedral! It turns out he was 85 and still working part time. He passed years ago but it means so much to experience the country he loved so much! He was an awesome person! I love watching river grow up! She is so beautiful! You make a gorgeous family!

Hey Crystal! Ah how amazing! So wonderful you get to see the place that he was from. The Sicilian people are a special kind of people, so we can only imagine how lovely he must have been. Cefafu was nice, haven’t been there yet, only been as far south as the Amalfi coast. The cathedral was amazing to look at! Palermo architecture was quite spectacular to see..

I must get back to Sicily and see more of it. I was on a cruise that only made a stop at Messina so I need to go back and explore it all as you 3 are doing. Looking at more of the Cathedral online, it's beautiful! Everyone take care now, see you Wednesday. Ciao

After Sicily you could take a ferry to Malta if you didn't get the return ticket yet. Malta is really pretty and worth exploring. Plus, they drive on the left so you will at home very quick. Safe travels!

We already have plans post-Sicily, but Malta would have been great, especially as neither of us have been there before. Just another reason to come back to Sicily 🙈🚐

Hi Ben Chesca and River, I think the scenery history is stunning in these places you are visiting, history is something we are bit light on compared to Europe and UK. Cobbled roads stone buildings narrow laneways such an atmosphere. We are only seeing the bad things on the news here be safe on the journey. Cheers from Australia.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️

It's one of the things we love most about Europe - so much history to be explored! To think who was walking these roads three, four hundred years ago...it blows the mind. What Australia is light on in history, it makes up for in glorious coastlines and landscapes - what a place to explore in a van! Hope you're keeping safe, there's a lot going on in Europe right now but we're both doing well xx

Hey guys.. Enjoyed the vlog, Sicily is on our list of course but a bit dubious about the wild camping situation.. You are staying at a lot of campsites, are there not many options for free parkups then? What’s the Park4nite situation there? Stay safe guys, sending love ❤️

Hello! 🧡 The parking situation isn’t really that bad, but this part of the north coast can be quite built up, so it’s not the easiest, especially in a big van! Vinny is the perfect size for Sicily 🚐 The rest of the island is looking great for park ups though so I think it was just a week of bad luck with park ups for us. You guys need to get down here - it’s completely beautiful and magical! ✨ Sending love to you in Spain from Sicilia xx

between Italy Spain and Portugal very similar country styles which one you guys preferer for van life ... .I'm Portuguese living in uk

Very good question! Can I answer honestly if you're Portuguese?! 🙈So far Spain is the better country for facilities, but Italy has to be our favourite, for the food, the landscape, the people. But we also LOVED Portugal, we spent 6 beautiful weeks there at the beginning of this year and didn't even make it to Porto and the north... so we have unfinished business with Portugal 😉💞

Do you think it’s possible to drive from Taormina to Palermo in one day along the coast comfortably?

It would be about 4 hours to drive that route along the coast, so very do-able in a day. Leave early morning and be there by lunchtime! 💛

That is a strange things I've ever heard. Being charged per person plus the campsite plus for your dog that's preposterous.campsites are supposed to only be able to charge for the campsite not by how many people are staying I think you might have gotten ripped off

It’s actually quite common! Turns out we had to pay 21 euros which is pretty standard. They charge per person because they also allow tent camping, so they break it down like that. I hadn’t seen it since Spain though. Not the bargain I thought it was 🙈

Yes it did - including a bar and a swimming pool so not too bad 😜 I know! It melts my heart. River is her daddy's two eyes 😍 🐶
