From historic attacks to contaminated land, I traveled to each of the U.S states that sit along the border of Mexico. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California each have unique towns with unique stories pertaining to the very topical border that separates both countries.

Just so everyone understands, this is intended to be a neutral look at the existing wall / fence. I chose these areas for their historic background or interesting setting. If it appears quiet, it's because nothing was happening in the 10 to 20 minutes that I was there.

Thank you Very very cool! Wow some of those backcountry border towns look very cool..WALL.I watch lots YTers trying to get in to area 51 with no success. Taking into account the wild life(sheep,goat,elk etc) that migrated for thousands years ,Where this WALL is supposed to go,Well I think its BS.Many say its to keep us in! If you can make 51 tight,Should be easier to make this border tight. Word from Yumma is the welders are killing it pay wise.Sad they cant be welding bridges that are in bad shape. Stay well Thank you Chris!

In the early 80s I lived in Tijuana and frequently went down to Playas de Tijuana on the coast. There was no fence at all at that time, certainly not into the ocean. Me and my Mexican friends would often cross over to that little park that you mentioned and would even play futbol(soccer) on the beach on the American side. The migra was usually somewhere around, but rarely bothered us. I remember one time I was sitting in that little park with a friend and the patrulla de la migra came right up to the park and my friend wanted to jump up and run back to the Mexican side. But I told him, just be cool and nothing will happen and sure enough the migra just waved at us and then left.

@@tomdibernardo1699 -I live in New Mexico and what you stated is far from the truth. There are areas along the US / Mexico border where there is a wall but it stops! There is no more wall from that point on because the govt ran out of funding. In fact, theres a section in New Mexico where US citizens paid for the wall out of their own pockets. This section was a very high border crossing for illegal immigrants, the coyotes who bring them, and the Cartels who traffic humans and drugs! Now in this section there is NO more of this illegal activity. People dont realize the crime in these areas where there is no wall or a partial joke of a wall! I'd suggest taking a trip for yourself to the border in any of the states and you'd laugh at what a joke & how bad it really is!

@@elmarcoelmarco103 ok you say this is the problem yet the gov statistics claim illegal immigration violations are majority a legal point of entry problem. Not so much the border itself.
@elmarcoelmarco103
@elmarcoelmarco103 5 жыл бұрын
@@tomdibernardo1699 -Not sure what govt stats you're talking about but the fact remains that there is a process to enter the United States "legally" just like all our forefathers did in the past. There are ports of entry all along the border with Mexico to wbich one can enter in a legal manner. Any crossing other than these points is by American LAW, Illegal, and breaking thd laws of our land. We are a nation of laws, and these these are what makes this country a highly sought after destination point. So why show disrespect to the country you're coming to by breaking our laws? Why jump in front of those who have done the proper process and are standing in line for one of million legal chances of becoming a US citizen? The problem with this video is that its not the whole truth on how the border is covered with a wall. Its not! The border is very, very porous and in these areas one can find crimes of all types, criminals of all types, and victims of these crimes, both those coming to America and also to the US citizens located all throughout the US! How does this affect people lets say in Maine? The drugs coming through, the human trafficking, sex slaves, the gang members, and identity theft to name just a few! People dont even realize that AZ is the kidnap capital of the United States! US citizens are taken hostage by the Mexican Cartels, a call is made with a ransom figure, and the ransom is either paid and the hostage lives or not paid and the hostage is stuffed in a plastic 55gal drum and dropped of in some side street in Mexico late at night! So you might not think there is a need for the border because its not in your backyard, but for those of us who live near it and see firsthand the TRUTH of what the MSM and govt politicians are not telling you all, I want a BIG BEAUTIFUL WALL from Cali all the way through Texas!

This could of been cherry picked into making it seem that we need more security. Hence a republican view is born. I'm not saying that its good or bad. I'm saying that you should consider looking a bit more into it and then making that decision. Something that's gonna solitify your view on this matter.

Fair enough, however I found the lack of acknowledgement of more extensive history and current events to be limiting to further discussion. Granted more coverage on this topic that is from as many perspectives as possible should be embraced, but to ignore the issues or not mention it is disappointing. I myself am Mexican American and from New Mexico, I've grown up in proximity to the borderland, and those issues of violence need to be addressed if you are attempting to understand the culture of the place and area. To ignore trauma and institutional oppression or violence in any way is to perpetuate it, and sadly it allows for incomplete polarizing opinions to form. Yes the cultures in these place are beautiful and vibrant, but they are far more complex than a quaint border town.

Ross Egan Jr. ----- I was a US Customs officer/k-9 and in this video -- he went from AZ straight to TJ, Mexico/ San Diego. He didn't show you any of the NON EXISTENT WALL (nothing) on the border in many places, not any fence at all in between many areas from Calexico to San Diego. There are areas that do have a wall, but some of that wall is a 3 foot tall - 3 strands of barbed wire fence, and in other areas, no fence at all!

From YUMA Arizona at the border. Thanks for posting. Most Americans have never seen the various types of border fencing. I go to Los Algodones (Mexico) about twice a month. People who live at the border IN Mexico are pretty nice, it's those who come from elsewhere and use illegal entry that is the problem.

I used to travel to Yuma for work a few times a year (2001-2010). Most trips would be a week or three. I loved your area and the people and miss my visits. I particularly miss the food. I’m nearing retirement and am considering a visit there just for fun. I lived in Alamogordo NM for a few years in the 1980’s (active duty military) and I remember complaining about the lack of trees (Lol) but after a while, I came to feel like a part of the wide openness. It kinda gets in your mind and heart after a while. Flying into Phoenix (from Atlanta) and driving a rental into Yuma is a nice trip that always made me feel happy. It’s big beautiful country.

Only someone who could not cross legally would say that the wall sucks. You know what really sucks? Because of all the illegal immigration that I can't travel down interstate 10 or some of the other highways without having to go through fucking checkpoints in my own country. And don't try to say they don't exist because I do u-ship and travel back and forth outta Texas to California and points north all the time. It should not have to be this way. I am not pointing blame at any side I am just saying we have a wall and check points because people simply will not obey the law.

Why don't they do something about the sewer runoff into the Pacific ocean on the border of the U.S. & Mexico. I lived in the beautiful city of Imperial Beach when I 21 years of age & the sewer problem was there then, almost 30 years ago. It affects surfers & other people who enjoy being in the ocean from the border to San Diego. You would think they would fix this serious problem that kills marine life & prrhaps human beings also, on both sides of the border.

A fire pit that close to the fence for camping makes no sense.. a fire pit of that size right on the fence line looks like some people were trying to see if they could melt part of the fence if they had a big and hot enough fire.. to cross . It didn't work of course so they left once they realized it was a dead mission . It was still burning the little pieces left in the huge pit for several hours after they had left and when this guy stumbled upon it.. smh
