There has been a drive to turn villages to small towns . And to bring some form of development in rural areas . I think people would love to see rural areas , unfortunately in South Africa people are building mansions and developing road infrastructure in rural areas . The positive is , the culture is intact, and there are few people who refuse to live a modern lifestyle, which can be interesting.

But why do you say unfortunately as if it's a bad thing to have big houses, the culture is intact which is the main thing but people aspiring to make their lives easier is a positive development. The houses are much better than in the cities coz people have more land and they can build any structure that pleases them Ive seen houses in Phokeng and KZN combined with the fact that villages have such beautiful scenery it's so beautiful to see those houses on the mountains

@@nomfunekonosilela3895 unfortunate for people people who want to see the ancient lifestyle of rural areas , as rural areas are transforming to be suburbs. If the government was fair , they would give them tar roads and all infrastructure to speed up the process . Rural areas are looking better that the old townships .

CORRECTION my Brother !! this is Mismanaged and Unkept TOWN not a Village!! THIS GOVERNMENT was SUPPOSE to BUILD a MARKET PLACE for village HAWKERS and Entrepreneurs!! THEY did not INSTEAD they POCKETED the MONEY 🤑🤑and left The TOWN Dirty and Filthy, THE Mayor is not Doing South Africa PROUD!! What a SHAME😩☹😞!! Good JOB as Always👍🏽

Thohoyandou is actually a gateway Town/ frontier of the surrounding villages. I am proud to be from this place. Venda ha tshikamuroho.

My sentiments exactly as I have watched videos of Phokeng and KZN, it's so beautiful to see those houses enclosed in the beautiful scenery of mountains and hills

Thohoyandou is not a village but at most a very badly planned town and at worst a township. A village would be something like Tshififi or Madombidzha not Thohoyandou

Real truth and most local traders cannot afford to conduct their business in malls. Malls are catered for international brands here.

They also create jobs for the locals and brings shops and other things closer to the people instead of them travelling long distances like they did in the past.
