They are loving every day on board and seeing and learning so much. The Grotto was incredible. Truly a magical place!

Many ways to catch fresh water & many ways to use it as well. Keeping an eye on the weather in advance when sailing is a must knowing that the weather can change especially in island locations. Enjoyed your great video as usual. Thanks, guys.

Hi Angus! We’re diligent in monitoring weather and picking our departure days and times accordingly. We have no interest in being out in truly bad weather. That said, squalls happen 😁😜 and we just push through. On rain capture we’ve gotten pretty good at it. One day in southern Florida we capture 65 gallons in a few hours!

The gold yacht is a Palmer Johnson. It's happens to be one of several yachts that I find absolutely fascinating.

Another great video! I was wondering if you guys do any fishing? I know the Bahamas have a lot of protected areas but was wondering you are permitted to fish and collect conch (with a license I am sure) also spear for lobster?

Hi Jeremy, glad you enjoyed the video. Fishing is permitted but not inside the Exuma Land & Sea Park which has its borders well marked on nautical charts. Actual you’re not allowed to touch or take anything from inside the park. Conch I believe you’re allowed to take less than 6 however we’re not big on Conch and didn’t catch any, other than the one the locals showed us how to shuck. Lobster has seasonal hunting dates and however spear fishing is not permitted as far as I know. The official guidelines are definitely available online.

Check out the inlets around Charleston. If you head further north there are some great nooks and crannies in Delaware & NJ. BTW: Boat life is agreeing with you Andy. You are so tan!!!

Really interesting. I wonder if some boats are designed to help direct rainwater to areas where it can be easily collected and stored if desired?

Most boats aren’t however I believe the Exquisite 50 does have a rain gutter to reclaim water. Our Leopard 45 has channeled drain holes from the roof deck so we’ve been able to reclaims as much as 65 gallons in one day!

Another Gr8 video. Hi I am a bit surprised how catamarans do not have guttering that allows rain water to flow into freshwater tanks on board? this of course would require a tap that will allow freshwater and not so water to enter the freshwater tanks.

Glad you enjoyed the video! I think the Xquisite 50 has a rain gutter system but I agree with you. It would be pretty cool to get rain water in a tank even if just for rinsing off the boat which is what we do when on anchor just with buckets 😜

We run a lean and healthy crew on OliLuki....lots of salads, fruits, veggies and plenty of seafood, peppered with the occasional burger etc. that said the boys are vacuuming up food at an incredible pace! All this sailing activities has them burning up calories and if Maki and I don’t get to the dinner table on time, they’ll eat it all and we’ll go hungry! 😜😁

I am impressed by your enclosure from Creative Canvas and thank you for an interesting youtube-chanal. One question: Does your white enclosure get easily dirty? Is it easy to clean?

Hi Rune! Creative Canvas did a great job and we really love the enclosures! To answer your question, they are really easy to keep clean and white…..just takes regular washing (as does the rest of the boat) and I usually wipe them down with a protectant from sun damage. Over 1.5 years into it and they still look new 😊

I am just guessing that would be a no, because the boys are still to young to dive and the parents would have to buddy dive and with the boys this young that wouldn't really work well. My guess is when the boys are older. I know I started working on my license at 15, but not sure what the rules are now.

I was certified and did a lot of diving 20 years ago. This past month I decided to retake the full course and was just certified again. Interestingly you can now be certified as early as 10 yrs old! Not sure we’re going to do it (probably not) even the the technology advancements are amazing, making diving even that much safer. Truth be told the water in places like the Bahamas is SO clear, you can see everything from the surface snorkeling and the boys had a great time snorkeling in just 8-10 feet of water.

Good video... You think it's just carrying on from the last but then you realise it's a month later... You mentioned in an earlier video that you would be doing a 1 year review. Is this still happening? Would be interested in knowing your thoughts on the hull pulsing system (whatever it was called)... Thanks

Hi Dave, thanks for the kind comment 👍. We’ve had a very busy summer but we will definitely be doing a 1.5 year review, sharing our thoughts, likes, dislikes, would have done differently etc. soon. Maki’s about to launch the next video and there’s more to come including the review on the Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling System. 😊

With no food for the pigs you got just as much out of it, and seemed to have a more enjoyable visit with the pigs. As someone who has raised pigs they can get aggressive, and I think I like your way of approaching them. With food they can get aggressive if you don't feed them as fast as they think you should!

That was as close as any of us were comfortable with. The piglets are super cute but the mama and papa pigs were a little rough and quick to approach even though they’ve been fed by other boaters all throughout the day.

I seen an Episode of "I Shouldn't Be Alive" A Guy Fell in a Blow Hole Such as the one in your video. Many have died falling in these. I believe this one was in Hawaii . You fall in and get beat to Death.

Completely agree they are nothing to mess with. Although it may look like we were close especially when the boys got all wet, we weren’t anywhere near the hole. The water shoots high and far from the hole so you can still enjoy without being silly and getting close. Pretty amazing how they are formed and the sheer power of the water coming out of there.

I have just watched the experiences of 'Sailing Parley Revival' with cracked main bulkheads causing separation of hulls & bridge due to a design fault particularly with Lagoon 450's. So far Lagoon are not playing ball... this is happening even to fairly new (2018) boats. So I am concerned for your family & boys... apparently there are several FB groups discussing this issue. Safe Sailing.

Thanks Bob for your concern. We just finished over a month of aftermarket work at Just Catamarans and learned about a global recall on Lagoons mainly I believe their 450’s and yes it’s a major problem. We have friends traveling in those boats so we are concerned for them as well. I’m happy to say on our end the Leopard Catamarans and specifically our L45 is structurally sound and sailing very well. Because Just Cats does SO much work on Leopards, they can attest to the build quality and integrity. We’ve had minor in most cases all cosmetic issues which have all been fixed 👍

Maki loves putting together "mini movies" but we're going to be posting some short "maintenance", "what we've learned so far" etc, etc 8-10 minute videos too. The 25+ minute videos take a lot of time and great effort on Maki's part, although they are fantastic to watch 😊
