I explore a 18th century coal mine hawne colliery to look at the old features of the buildings then making my way to the gun barrel in halesowen I then make my way to haden hill park to talk about some history and look around at the spectacular views of both park and also the house

As someone as mentioned that is an Inspection pit put in years later after collery was closed. The big circular concrete section you were standing on was in fact the cap on the pit., the wheel section you looked into and thought was an entrace to the pit was a water soak away and the wheel was infact a water wheel, which worked some of the machinery in early 1900's. I visited this a few times as a young lad as a relative worked there and gave us a walk around. My mother owned a pub in cradley heath the holybush a banks and hansons pub. You would like the old chain makers in cradley it has quite a good history, another pub we had as a child growing up was the Boat inn, bumblehole netherton. Great history and resident ghost which later became an office but still had strange goings on. Best walk is the saltwells, around old quarry and pub in that area of netherton if you want wild life. But tividale and all its foundries was best area of the black country and really was black with all the smoke pouring out of the chimneys. Beans factory which produced nearly every car engine part in UK in tipton but was turned into housing, and tunnels like the netherton tunnel or dudley tunnel giving access to many great canal walks. Black country will always have great history and a language to boot.

With Haden Hill Park, Mousesweet Brook Local Nature Reserve, Saltwells, Codsall Coppice, Corngreaves and Leasowes, there are so many open spaces to explore One area I didn't know about until a few years ago is the stretch of canal into Coombeswood which comes out near B&Q on Mucklow Hill Somewhere where I do enjoy walking is the Harborne Walkway which I finally walked the parts I hadn't done in the summer

At 7:20 that looks like a servicing bay with an inspection pit; you can see the shoulders around the edges that would support sleepers when the pit was not in use. The infrastructure of the building looks way more modern that the other buildings. I would say it was some kind of vehicle garage/workshop.

Interesting that tbh guess you could be right there I see what you mean most inspection pits I've seen are similar would have thaught this could have been used when Dudley council used the land think they stored trucks there at one point from a photo I seen a while back

I live in Old Hill and the colliery is not far from me and I've never really been aware of it so might go and explore it. I feel like there's a lot of places like this that most people aren't aware of I spent a lot of time in Haden Hill Park as a kid and in the 1980s went to Haden Hill School which is on Barr's Road, but the school is long gone
