I have been 3 times and it is simply outstanding. I have been to all UK aircraft museums but Duxford is way ahead in every aspect. Anyone interested in aviation either civil or military will be blown away!

Joined the airline industry direct from school in July 1971 aged 16. I worked hard and travelled the world. Flew on Super VC -10, Convair CV990A, Boeing 707/727/737/747/757/767/777 BAC One Eleven, Trident Two/Three DC8/9/10/Concorde G-BOAF stored in BAE museum Filton, Bristol.

I like flying into Duxford in a four seater. Pay one landing fee (cheaper than a single museum entry) and you get 2hrs included to wander around the museum 🙂 It’s fabulous taxying along past all those great airliners (they’re set well back from active taxiway but you get the idea). And “follow the mustang from your right” or “park opposite the Catalina” (had this on a busy fly-in day) are special.

Fantastic tour of some really great aircraft. I had visited the museum several times back in the 80’s. I’d love to go back now. I’m must admit I’m particular to the BAC 1-11 as I flew a model 401ak. It was in corporate configuration. I loved that aircraft. May not have been the fastest, or best performing aircraft I ever flew, but there was just something about it. Loved your video !!!

I was at Duxford when the Monarch Britannia flew in. My brother in law was working for Monarch at the time. They sold it to Duxford for £1. It flew from Luton to Duxford with wheels down, as they couldn't be retracted.

Flew as a passenger on VC-10’s with the RAF several times, it’s strange seeing a VC-10 with the seats facing forward as all RAF ones had the seats facing to the rear.

I live in Jersey but have an aviation background having completed an aircraft technician apprenticeship with HSA at Hatfield between 1970 & 1977. It is sad to see dH Heron G-AORG sat at Jersey airport effectively rotting away. I would love to see the aircraft become part of Duxfords British Airliner fleet.

Wow that is really crazy to think that airspeed ambassador 2 has been sat retired on the tarmac at Duxford almost as long as I’ve been alive!

I used to see them as a child in Jersey. Lovely aircraft. Loved the black smoke and noise when they started up their engines.

East Fortune also has a good collection of civil types. Including a production model Concorde and what's left of the last RR engined 707.

Great tour. I'm definitely going to go to Duxford soon. Flew from Dublin to Tarbes as a kid on a British Eagle Britannia charter (facing backwards !). It was my first flight so nice to see such a well preserved specimen. I'm not sure if I'm as well preserved.

Well done - great video takes me back to my childhood ! Sadly it underlines the decline in Britain today considering what we could do in the 60's !

Loved seeing the Hermes - did Airwork have more than one Hermes? if not then this is the one that flew my mother, myself and two brothers to Hong Kong in 1957 - it had been chartered to fly servicemen's families to H.K., leaving from Blackbushe airport.

Thanks John! The Dove is hanging from the ceiling, so it's difficult to get a good shot.
