Today I went with my good friend Gogo to the biggest fleamarket in my town in Krefeld It was on the Sproedentalplatz I the weather was so hot that a lot of people stayed home so it was really easy to see all the goods people were selling

For the first time in my life, I had a hot dog and a slush in Germany. West Germany, precisely, 1979, summer in Cologne. My little brother was with his nanny in Moscow. My father, mother and I went for our last Europe tour before returning to India. All are dead expect me and my memories.

Gogo seems to be an amazing friend. Someone who always finds something to do, and you can always count on him to show up if you have something to do. He definitely should create a channel and have subtitles. :)

HALLO!!!! I have watched you for a while now. I am a 1st generation German American and have lived in Florida many years. My Oma and father were Bavarian. I was lucky enough to stay with my Oma and Opa - they lived in Roth bei Nuremberg. We travelled all over Germany and into lovely places Austria. Even Berlin in 1976 before the wall came down. I miss Germany so much, memorizing everywhere I went. I visited for3 months after graduating in 1983. Had gotten my beautiful Dirndl in Ritt em Winkl. Stayed on BodenSee. Sehr schön. Loved the shopping there when I returned my 3rd trip in1998. My son now very outgrown got a Liederhosen from me as a gift. My Oma had while she lived in Huntsville Ala. and I own now that album Heinje---- a favorite

At 8:05 a wooden shoe...called sabot....during the industrial revolution some workers would throw their sabots into the machinery. This is where the term ..sabotage came from.

Mike, Gogo should have a channel. He can add and continue the great work you've done introducing us to Krefeld and the surrounding areas. Maybe, have your mom do guest appearances from time to time ;) I've been to Germany, but rarely do you get the regular man on the street view. It is mostly tourist or buiness. Just an idea, and like you, Gogo is just a good person and it comes across in your frienship and also through the camera.

That is a very good flea market. So many here in the area of the US have gone to selling the cheap made Chinese goods. Bring back the old flea market. Something for everyone.

I would totally subscribe to Gogo, he seems like he has a fun and welcoming personality. In my state on the east coast, it gets extremely humid, it’s supposed to be 100 degrees Fahrenheit this coming week, going to be miserable, we have a lot of forests and vegetation so we get probably the same kind of heat that you get there.

I grew up with Asterix and Obelix and Lucky Luke, always loved them! Even a bit of Tin Tin, but I didn't like it as much. very popular in Quebec. The cartoon movies were always a big thing around the holidays where you could get them playing on TV. To this day I associate Christmas with those movies. Oh, and I can only watch them in French, otherwise it's not right.

From what I see Germany looks a lot like Wisconsin. Maybe that's why we have a lot of German heritage and beer here as well. Milwaukee Wisconsin area in particular.

In England The fleemarket, is called a 'Boot Sale'.. always very popular on weekends and sometimes during the week as well, generally on a Wednesday. I would live to visit the German one though, nice to look around other countries bargains..
