Exploring the media level at Tropicana Field

I was interviewed on the FOX Sports pre-game show and went behind the scenes at Tropicana Field. Want to check out the media dining room? Get a glimpse of the press box? See how radio interviews are taped?
Huge thanks to the Rays for welcoming me (and my videographer) to the stadium, especially Stu Sternberg, Matt Silverman, Eric Weisberg, and Larry McCabe . . . and more thanks to Orestes Destrade, Rich Hollenberg, and Neil Solondz for the great interviews.
Unfortunately there wasn't batting practice, but I still snagged a couple of baseballs and had an amazing time overall. This video was filmed on April 16, 2018. Thanks for watching!

Hey Zack good to see the love at the Trop and not sure if your aware Rays are in process of moving over to Tampa in a neighborhood called Ybor City( Historical) and the plan is for a 30,000 retro ish park to fit the look and feel of Ybor stay tuned but they are moving forward and are in the planning stages

Cole_ Schatz yea I know if all goes as planned they r look at 2023 plus it would take 2 yrs or so for construction and multiple parking garages and remember it's Ybor so it will be historical looking which adds to timeline let's see

Great video. The paid attendance was I think 9,000 and change. I wonder how well the new Rays ballpark will do in terms of attendance when it opens in the foreseeable future...

The Tampa Bay Lightning get almost 20k inside and another few thousand outside, and the rays get about 10,000 total.

Even tho the Trop gets a bad rep, it’s a very cool and unique stadium. One of the reasons why I love it. Tickets prices are pretty cheap, 72 degrees year round, great places to eat and when they do have a lot of people attending the games, the stadium is really loud.

The problem isn't the roof or field. It's because that Tropicana is in St. Pete rather than in Tampa (where the majority of fans and money actually are). No one wants to travel across those bridges no matter how affordable the games are. Furthermore, a roof that opens is a bad idea. The humidity and heat would make a roof that opens impracticable. Hope you had a good time in Tampa, though. Keep up the good work!
