I am back in New Delhi and this time I am going to explore the most modern and rich areas of the capital of India.
Last time I was in Delhi I made this video: THE MOST CHAOTIC CITY IN THE WORLD! 🇮🇳 A DAY IN DELHI • THE MOST CHAOTIC CITY ...
And so many people complained that I was just showing the old, poor, dirty side of Delhi.
And to be honest, that's true. Because that's the ONLY Delhi I knew.
But this time I was able to learn more about the different areas of Delhi and I will bring you with me to see the more developed side of the city.
We are going to explore Connaught Place, Khan Market and Aerocity.
Ah....while exploring, I will change the color of my hair and I will also get scammed. ;)
So sit back, relax and enjoy this video.
Best,
Gabi

I am not from India, but I truly love Indian cultural heritage. Spirituality, ashrams, Indian food, ancient architecture... India was and will be the ultimate spiritual destination. personally I think that Indians should not be ashamed of the poverty that is shown openly in India and that is well hidden and camouflaged in the West. On my wish list is to visit the country and what I want to see is definitely not KALI YUGA. I've had enough of it, seen all its sides, live in it. West is not poor like India but it is real Feudalism and slave society packed in Prada bag.

People r dishing not because of old areas but because of people r confused about the cities.. "New Delhi" and "Delhi" r two different places.. ND is a city inside Delhi state.. we accept when people shows bad sides of New Delhi as well when u speak with real names... we have multiple places with similar names.. people often confuses and gives negative opinion towards a good side confusing with other place with similar name that they actually visited.. which gives a bad reputation overall. Actually CP, Khan market and Janpath are also around 100 years old. These along with India Gate comes under Lutyen's Delhi, named after the architect who designed it in around 1920. If you walk around CP, you'll see the buildings have old architecture and some in really bad condition are unused and awaiting demolition. It's just the shop inside them that's chaned.

Hahaha, I love how spontaneous you are, just meeting a guy whose hair color you like and then going the salon right away to get it done on yourself too 🤣 but yeah, if you want to dye dark hair, you have to bleach it first or otherwise the color won't stick. Maybe this time around it was to your advantage though... 😁 The coffee and sushi in Aerocity were super expensive, but I guess it should be expected because there you're paying a lot for the premises too, not just the food.

I guess you are talking about the quality of the tap water in India. So if you stay in a high end gated community or with luxurious hospitality in India, the tap water in your hotel suite or in your high end apartment is not the same as the tap water in low income group localities or slums as the gated communities and luxurious hotels have their own water purification systems for drinking purposes and additionally wealthier people can anyway buy UV/RO based water purifying home appliance for their family use. In India municipal water treatment facilities for tap water supply in all major cities have vastly improved over the years yet tap water at the business end is a bit suspect, not because of any shoddy practise in the name of treatment but because of the antiquated underground water supply network with broken pipes through which sewage water or stormwater seep into the tap water supply system and it would incur huge expenses to replace the vast labyrinth of old supply network not possible to bear in the short term with low per capita tax collection and in the process the whole cityscape and the arterial roads would look like dug up graveyard blocading traffic and all meaningful socioeconomic activity for indefinite period. India has been constructing greenfield cities on acquired rural and agricultural real estates where land price and existing economic activity are less compared to existing irban spaces and hence cost of development would also be less and tap water quality won't be a concern in those cities once they are built. Coming to your observation that newer parts of Delhi do not look as interesting as older parts, well, India can not afford to remain poor to come across as interesting to foreign backpackers subconsciously gorging on poverty tourism of sorts either with the coolaid of multiculturalism and diversity or to seek validation from within regarding being thankful and fortunate to be born with privileges amidst systemic order in the developed west that is congruent with mainstream western narrative largely curated by western media and academia with unabashed stereotypes on the developing world, completely forgetful and unmindful of sequence of historical events that led to the difference visible in the modern day perspective, for example two century long colonial expropriation of India and the west reaping the dividends of early headstart and early harvest of fruits of industrial revolution whilst Indians, stripped of their sovereignty, lost the sway to dictate terms to their fate, their socioeconomic and sociopolitical discourse and remained stagnant in the contemporary timeframe. Everybody has a right to aspire and lead a wealthier and affluent life amongst opulence after all. So westerners have to cope with India gradually becoming more "uninteresting" that way. But India will remain interesting when it comes to Indian architecture visible with temples built even in the modern times, Indian festivities like Dussera, Diwali and Holi, Indian weddings and funerals, every day aspects of Indian lives very Indian in their own ways even if the work culture and infrastructure changes, India's spiritual and philosophical values, India's food, colors, costumes, culture, arts, songs, dance forms, movies, literature, India's many languages that are all inalienable to India's soul, apart from India's natural beauty and topgraohy that will also remain as interesting as today. So India still has hell lot to offer that might pique your interest even if congested crowded narrow streets astride nondescript lowrise slums with bullcarts and tuktuks plying on them, trash strewn around and vendors encroaching upon sidewalks selling their stuffs give away to modernised well planned and well maintained wide throughfares, more parks, water bodies, open spaces and squares, gardens, foodcourts, malls, better traffic and crowd management, more cleanliness and better overall living spaces in years ahead of us.

@@knightatdawndonbynight8432 yes it was the tap water I was enquiring about. Thanks for your detailed reply. I don’t disagree with the second paragraph. I first visited India in 1980 and travelled quite widely and though I had a great time I was very mindful of how hard life was for most Indians and how lucky I was that in England we could drink water from the tap without fear. Back then I did sometimes drink iced water from vendors in Delhi as there was only so much Limca, Campa Cola or Chai that I could drink. There was no bottled water available and someone told me that it was chlorinated ( I don’t suppose it was but there were no guide books in those days to inform you) and like you pointed out perhaps the pipes were in better condition India was very different then and has progressed a lot and I am not intending any criticism or desire for it to remain poor. I am also aware that most Indians live in the countryside and for many of them life will not have changed so much. I have no particular interest in visiting Starbucks, Nando’s or KFC whether it be in England or India and shopping Malls don’t interest me either. Last time I was in Delhi 4 years ago was with my son and though he regularly eats Indian food he tried the KFC , nice to have the choice - he said the chicken was much bigger and enjoyed it. Have you been to Chandigarh? I was very impressed though it did have what you would describe as a slum where the rickshaw riders lived Many western tourists will have some understanding of colonialism and partition. As you say there are lots of interesting sites to visit in India, many people are quite happy to visit Goa and enjoy 2 weeks in the sun. I don’t know but I imagine the Goan economy has benefited from tourism even if the ecology hasn’t Bfn

@@jonnyreggae100 hey man tbh everything has changed within 40 years........for eg during 1980s there is literally no houses were there in my street....you have to travel a lot to get even basic facilities in almost every major city.....but now there is literally houses at every corner and i can get all the basic facilities within 100m from my house.....i agree what you said slums do exist....but majority of them live in good houses as far as ive seen......but the main problem with major cities are that many poor people will come there aiming for a better life but end up building slums....mumbai is rich af per capita is 25k dollars but city is divided between rich and poor as you will find one of the richest and poorest people there......its not like new york where majritarily only wealthy people live...........And also our country side has changed rapidly within 30 years.......im in south india which is quite developed and there are literally no homeless people in my village and even 20 years back we have to travel atleast 30 km(17 miles) for good facilities but now we have world class hospital colleges and literally every kind of shops within 3km (1.5 miles) there is literally burger sanwitch shops near my village.....so yeah a lot has progressedin south especially but in central part of india everything is still same where majority live in poverty and people from that states only will flock into major cities and build slums............i think we came far from where we started or where we pushed into by your country

@@creativethinkers3214 yes big changes that you have lived through i have just had a snapshot, I have visited the south a couple of times and it seemed much cleaner and more relaxed particularly in Kerala . I was told that a lot of people worked abroad in the gulf states which enabled them to build houses, open businesses etc. Most of the Indians in Bolton are Gujerati but are settled here though some have built houses back in the villages which they visit in the winter. Never been to New York but although they may have clean water and sanitation there are many homeless people, it doesn’t have a welfare state like we do or did ! We now have beggars and people living on the streets, never thought I would see it here Hope that makes sense

@@jonnyreggae100 yeah I'm from Tamilnadu which is situated right next to Kerala. Kerala is really a tourism heaven and development there is pretty good. But so many youngsters are moving into other main cities in India and gulf from Kerala coz there is literally no job opportunities there. Since Kerala is a communist state all these years they never allowed a single industry No industrialidation so no job opportunities and it doesn't have any major city but yeah it has many pleasant places for tourism. Gujaraits are considered as money makers and top 5 richest persons in India come from Gujarat. Also if you have seen many Indian motels and hotels are actually owned by them gujaratis. You will often find Patel motels in USA. These guys own almost 60 percent of entire motels and small chain restaurants in USA. As you said poor people are everywhere in the world but yeah we are slowly developing and lifting people from poverty like 200 million people came out of poverty in last 10 years. Poverty rate is from 37 percent to 21 percent in last 10 years. I think in future we will be in a even more better situation compared to this. And also I'm a 2004 born so all these stories about their village life were told by my family members and now yeah I'm enjoying the development and facilities. Peace✌
