@@alibaba-255 its more to do with the fact that these are horror stories. lf you had the foundation using said options all the times most of these stories won't be as interesting from a horror perspective. It gives the story a sense of fear, but that is just me 2 cents

Bergensape technically if they were fixing the bone trees and generating bone tissue they’d be osteoblasts. Although, it seems the “pale entities” could only see the mtf and the d-class once the maggots had touched them, which is actually how antibodies work with white blood cells-antibodies attach to any bacteria that isn’t supposed to be there, and then white blood cells just need to be able to find antibodies to find bacteria to destroy. This makes it so the white blood cells don’t have to look for millions of different forms of the common cold; they just have to find the antibodies.

I remember hearing a story called The Bone Orchard. It was about a king that sought out a wizard for a spell, and for the final ingredient he had to go get the corpse of a hanged man from the cemetery. However, the corpse turned out to be alive and asked the king a riddle every time he took it off the tree. When the king gave an answer, it teleported back to the tree. Eventually, the king was given a riddle with no right answer, and the corpse’s spirit left its body and revealed to the king that the wizard sought to usurp his crown. It was a really unique style of stop-motion and I really liked it.

It was on Netflix when I saw it, but it's not there anymore and I have scoured the Internet for it to either paywalls or no avail. IIRC, I found out recently that the king was voiced by Tim Curry and the corpse was voiced by Mark Hamill. ETA that I just found a mini clip of it on KZfaq. It's where the king meets the corpse.

Why SCP 3989 is basically just Cells At Work: body horror edition So effectively, what I’m understanding here is the Sarkites found a way to corrupt human physiology into singular specialized killing machines based around individual components of our anatomy. Red blood cells form a massive transport network and typically lack specialization (though possibly unrelated, see SCP 610’s overwhelming ability to spread and transport itself, and overall general capability to slaughter or assimilate everything), White blood cells specialize in defending the body from foreign invaders and are also specialized for different tasks, and coincidentally, can vary significantly in size (see the opaque humanoids, maintaining the orchard from MTFs). Platelets, smaller blood components, repair the blood and body from damage, and prevent the blood from failing its functions (see the worms, the repairing of trees, etc). Then finally, the spine and skeleton, which beyond protecting the organs, serves as the site of Hematopoeisis, that is, the creation of new blood cells. Note that, it is the bone trees where heart-like sacs produce new entities with disturbing connections to our white blood cells and platelets, things produced in our own bones. Another dimension where the Sarkites won and turned a whole world into a fleshy hell.

I wonder if they'd given Goslee and ultrasound, would they have found the tiny entity latched onto his liver ala chest burster style? also the comment about the reliefs on the wall being pretty? Yeah lovecraft reference. The elder things and other Lovecraftian aliens are known for their "horrific bass reliefs" and buildings with "strange geometries". That the agent was calling them "pretty" is a sign that he was driven insane by the anomaly, because normal people are horrified by the lovecraft version and learning the truth of or beholding a Lovecraftian entity is known to drive someone crazy.

The myth that all Lovecraftian creatures caused madness is due to many of his protagonists already being predisposed to it and/or in story reasons. Berkeley Creager it’s made by an artist named Oleg Vdovenko, under the handle Chuvabak Art. He makes body horror type art like what’s seen. It all has a very Sarkic look to it, and he makes picture series that tell stories as well as animations of body horror monsters

Cythera (unsure of exact spelling) is considered the mystical realm of Aphrodite in Greek myth, and is the place where her cult first made landfall in Greece. I would LOVE to see some talented SCP writer take the island's IRL history and blend it with Sarkicism.

so like 3 years ago i started having panic attacks. one of the first things they tried giving me was ambien to try to help me sleep. the first night i swear to you i had a nightmare about this forest... i just started getting into SCP stuff a few days ago...

The Foundation did not return them to active duty. The affected site did as part of the Saric takeover.
