What i was trying to say is that the object class is merely measure how difficult an anomaly contained. Some dangerous anomaly are deemed to be kept locked from outside world, some are must be protected from the outside world, some are need to be destroyed. You must first understand the threat level. That is the real deal.

It's a pretty diverse Group of Interest. The Wanderer's Library site is kinda neat and there are some good tales about them in the wiki, such as the Prisoners series, The Conspiracy of Sigma-3, The Thing At The Bottom Of My Dreams, etc.

I would like to think The Serpents Hand as a sort of similarity to the Colonial method of propaganda distributors or users. Simply because they use the subtle or less harmful means to get the message across. They have no army or guns but have knowledge and a place to call home. But they remain quiet unless provoked like a snake. All in all they are probably the most interesting group out there that remain quiet for their safety and for the safety of all Safe class SCPs they wish to see free.

I think the naming is more along the lines of being the snake in the garden of eden. The one who gave knowledge of good and evil to humanity by convincing adam and eve to eat the fruit. The serpent's hand want humanity to partake of the fruit of knowledge so may we know our adversaries, so that we may know of good and evil.

I play DND, and I actually added SCP’s into the campaign I’m running, and so far, my players have met shy guy, old man, peanut, the doc, the dog, the hard to kill reptile, the gate guard, and a few others, but I’m about to have them run into the song of genesis

Love this stuff man. Keep up the SCP videos. I really like the SCP universe but your videos are the best in my opinion. While most channels are just dramatic readings of the SCP entries (which are cool), yours are much more detailed and every time I find myself even more immersed than I would be otherwise. I love the exploration into the themes and potential connotations each SCP proffers.

There are also things humans can do to protect themselves from anomalous threats and it would prevent harm if humans knew about those precautionary measures. I agree with the Serpent's Hand but they need to fully understand the capabilities of each anomaly before releasing it. If something is dangerous and can be destroyed, instead of locking it in a vault and further studying how it does the killing, it should be destroyed.

If you were to use the Lovecraftian Locket and the Song of Genesis together, do you think you’d be able to terraform a planet given enough time for the organisms to grow before it all dies, and you repeat the cycle with the dying organisms?

Gavin Christenson It would be an interesting experiment to be sure. I always thought it’d be interesting to see how the song affected 682, as its cells would just regenerate and keep multiplying, plus any organisms created from it would undoubtedly be very interesting. It’s a shame the Foundation will never test these things.

king muizz Quite the opposite, actually. The song does what it says in the video, causes uncontrolled cell growth with the victim eventually turning into a whole mass of fungi and new organisms. The locket has the property of constantly healing whoever wears it, regenerating any lost or damaged tissue; unfortunately, this eventually leads to the wearer growing into a giant mindless flesh monster. I believe the original comment is suggesting that by having someone who is wearing the locket listen to the song, the listener would constantly be producing new tissue, fungi, and organisms, but the locket would be constantly healing them, preventing their body from decaying/dying; thus you would have a theoretically infinite source of new organisms and organic material, which could spread over a planet and create an entirely new ecosystem in the process. Edit: If you want to see a good representation of how the Song works, look up the video “Confinement Episode 2: The Singing Forest”. Confinement is an animated series based on SCP, and this episode features the Song of Genesis.

The "Books that will never be written" were written. They were just written in Continuities other than your own (What happened to Site 13?). The Library connects to many realities at once, there will always be books that weren't written in your reality.

So glad you finally got to do the Serpent's Hand. I have been suggesting it for months now, it just didn't feel right not to talk about them when you already talked about many other GOIs. Perhaps the only thing missing in this video was the MTF Sigma-3, which works as a diplomatic link between the Foundation and people in the Wanderer's Library, since they are the only people in the Foundation who have access in there.

It's funny: I'm a vegetarian, so I'm not crazy about the flesh thing, but the notion of "sin-eating" has actually been a big part of my spiritual practice. AND I'm an urban shaman (no joke) from Norway and would love to learn from the Sami, so feeling *definite* kinship. :)

So I'm assuming that the name is a reference to the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Knowledge. The Serpent in Genesis wanted to give Adam and Eve knowledge which up to that point they didn't have. "The Garden is the Serpent's place" seems like a pretty obvious reference. The Serpent's Hand seeks to give knowledge to Mankind, regardless of what the consequences of such enormous revelations might be. It's also worth mentioning that before God cursed the Serpent of Genesis, he presumably had limbs (part of the curse was that the Serpent would be forced to slither around with his belly on the ground, implying he had previously stood more upright)

The Serpent's Hand sounds totally dope, yo. If I was gonna join any group in the SCP universe, it'd be the snake squad. How their ideal world would probably be one where the safe SCPs like 999, 507, and 166 are free and the more dangerous ones are still kept in containment to protect humanity. But that the public should at least be aware of them, except for the ones that spread via harmful memetics. I like that nuance. Plus, who doesn't want an infini-library as a base?

Here's a thought. What if the SCP website was created by the Serpent's Hand? That would explain why there's an easily accessible website detailing all this information on the paranormal and the inner workings of the various secretive factions of the SCP universe despite how much work groups like the Foundation do to prevent leaks.

Upon hearing the name serpent's hand, I got the idea of a religious cult. But the serpent's hand actually seems pretty BASED. In a world full of anomalies it makes no sense to keep the reality of it all a secret from the general public. That seems to leave people more vulnerable. Especially since some of them can't be contained or destroyed at all. I thinks it better to study anomalies in general, contain them when they need to be contained, help them when they need to be helped, and destroy them when they need to be destroyed.

@@plasmawolf7960 it depends on what you read into it. The text is so flowery and non-literal I'm not sure if there's a definitive way to read it. If you read it as light and dark meaning good and evil then yes, it's absolutely advocating for something sketchy, but if you read it as the known and the unknown then it sounds fairly balanced. Knowing the serpent's hand are supposed to believe in integrating the anomalous into ordinary peoples' awareness as much as possible and as safely as possible, I take it as them wanting a more balanced take on their universe. Whether they're right or wrong depends on a lot of factors, but that's my most charitable take on the meaning.

I admire The Serpent's Hand because we have the same ideals & goals. Also, I hate the way the SCP Foundation treats humans who they deem disposable. I'm not talking just about the D Class that're sometimes made up of criminals but mainly on the innocent civilians whose lives were cut short just because the Foundation wanted to keep secrets (like how 4 kids were killed by the Foundation after their interaction with a living mannequin). So I'm supporting The Serpent's Hand.

For real man, I love your videos and your voice/word delivery is on point! I also like how well you explain stuff to newcomers (like me) of this exciting scp universe. But in my opinion you should be churning out more scp related media brother please? I didn't know about any of this and when I found your videos I went straight to your content page and put your vids list on auto play. When I ran out I was disappointed but then I saw volguns page but to be honest I prefer your clear and conciseness/different visuals over the same ol' OG Black Ops tape recorder/chalkboard/cig smoke theme. The audio clips he has are neat (MINUS THE REDACTION NOISE) and he puts a little picture of what the scp looks like. Not trying to hate bro... Maybe I smell a collab between y'all in the air, who knows? Just putting in my two cents worth. I just wish you would pump out some new scp related vids. And the non cannonity of this all means anything is possible (or just infinite universes) and that's what makes this world so exciting! Lots of luck to you and yours my friend. Thanks, Gideon
