Our food would be quite bland as a taste for foreigners but as a mizo we like trying to get as much natural taste in our foods in most of them and enjoy the natural umami flavor to get the best out of it , but after the introduction of Ajinomoto (MSG) in the 90's , msg is popular in our dishes but that doesn't apply to all familes and people living here as there are still a lot of people who still make dishes the old traditional way , Thanks for visiting Mizoram 👍

Welcome to Mizoram. Today, the teens of Mizoram can speak very well in English. Whom you've met in the shop like the one at Sanpiau shop would not be educated because she might be from the other side of Mizoram (east) side. The educated are at schools, offices etc., and we use one language i.e Mizo language, and at the offices English and Mizo is used too. So, I hope you understand the present Mizo people now. Luckily, the two wheeler taxi driver could speak in English, cause he might have studied upto cl X or XII or maybe a graduate. One reason is that, we are not mixed up with some other tribes from North East India like other states. I've studied in Patkai Christian College, Dimapur Seithekima. I have many Naga friends. Those that I still remember were Benjamin Hollohon (L) and Daniel Hollohon (L), they are from Dimapur, we used to study in Bangalore, Bishop Cottons Boys School in the 80's. They were the sons of Hollohon (Ex Minister), I don't know whether he's kicked the buket or not. They are of Sema tribe.

Guys please know the difference between being educated and literated and please stop arguing about spoken english. Spoken english comes down to practice, since we usually don't have alot of tourist/visitors due to our location and ILP (Inner Line Permit) . So the need to use of english is rare hence the lack of practice.
