Congrats on 1000. I subscribed a couple months ago and have watched nearly all your videos and have enjoyed them all. Looking forward to seeing more in the future. Thanks, Pete. PS. I've had some memorable camping trips when the weather was bad and I was set up comfortably under my awning. We have to take it as it comes, cheers.

Great honest content 👌 but heres a tip next time you cook pizza put the lid down on the coals warm it up a little put pizza on the lid then put the pot part over it upside down like an oven with more coals on the base basicly just use your camp upside down 👌see how it goes

Great video again mate. Shows just how much the conditions dictate how your adventures go. Went out on a 3 day trip in the VHC the week before Christmas 2022 & it was awesome weather for the first two & a half days. Once it looked like turning we packed up & finished off going past Craig's Hut & ended up finding the track to Razorback when I pulled over for a quick toilet stop at that very point. Went in for a look & the conditions there were perfect again. We decided to stay the extra night because we had the entire place to ourselves & we'd never actually stayed in a Hut before, only visited. Sitting around the fire on the log chairs listening to music the heavens lit up the sky & the most chilling thunder clap followed almost immediately after. Then these waterbomb size rain drops started to come down. Within less than a minute we were scrambling to get everything & run to the Hut. Turned out that we were extremely lucky to have the Hut or our campsite would have been smashed. It was the most epic rainstorm event that I had ever seen! Kept me awake all night. Lightning, thunder like you never hear unless you are up that high, tree felling winds (the trees were surrounding us at the end cabin with the double bed were dancing side to side) & buckets of rain. It was beautiful & scary at the same time. It rained all night & the rain was dancing on the ground in movements like a huge flock of birds flying around with the swirling wind the next morning. We ended up having to stay until the early evening of the next day waiting for the track out to dry up & even the tourist road (can't remember the name) so we wouldn't slip & slide everywhere because there were many instant bogs. Never forget that trip & that storm for the rest of my days! Would you consider doing a damper cook up on the fire if you haven't already? If you have, can you please let me know which video has that in it? Cheers. Catch you on the next one mate.

G'day James, Sounds like you witnessed the true change of conditions up there mate. Pretty amazing and indeed scary at the same time knowing anything can happen at any time. If it had of been cold enough it would have been classed as a snow storm blizzard. The big trees always worry's me when it gets like that up there especially the big mountain ashes . I remember back in the original refuge hut days (before in burnt down in 2007) a mate and I woke up to a good down pour funny thing was all of a sudden it just turned silent and that was snow. Then camped down at Bindaree hut I've heard some big trees hit the deck in the distance while just sitting there in the camp chair around a fire very scary. This is one old video when I made scones mate (almost a damper) but I didn't use beer haha. There was another video but I think I re edited the Damper out not sure but I couldn't find that one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zp52bKt01NbPhKs.html

@@Bush-Tv Thanks mate. I'll check the video in the link soon. I'm with you in regards to the big trees. Terrifying when you are sitting at camp or out walking & branches or trees are dropping. I had a branch that would have been 1 tonne minimum just drop at Toorongo Falls campground just last year. & it was a perfect day with very little to no wind whatsoever. They are accidents waiting to happen if you camp under them. & so many people still bloody does. Even when you recount stories of drops like that one. Catch you in the next video.

Bit late to the party but went through a huge storm in kevington camping along a river (can’t remember the name, it ran through kevington and woods point) I just hopped in my swag and slept during the storm, but bloody hell, suppose you did the right thing getting a stretcher, out at noojee I had a swag without a stretcher and was a bit late arriving so didn’t set up my awning and had an absolute downpour, more water than swag, you did well this trip

Hey mate just watching over some old videos of yours again haha. Do you use the stretcher much ? Or like the swag on the deck? Also what’s the swinging grill like (not your one) the one you used in this vid ? I was looking at grabbing one .
@Bush-Tv
@Bush-Tv Ай бұрын
G'day mate, the stretcher is really good, it's a tad heavy bit worth it. O I only really use it if I'm in one spot for more than two nights ( just easier for me due to time) The swing away in this video is my mate's and in my opinion isn't the best quality mate
