Please Note - this video was filmed back in April 2023 before the house was sold at auction. It has now been sold and completely ckeared out. The house was owned by Kenn Dodd but was not his family home. Please see further information below..
The legendary Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE was an English comedian, singer, and occasional actor. He was described as "the last great music hall entertainer", and was primarily known for his live stand-up performances. My good friend Ian Urbex Lost & Found told me of a house which belonged to Ken had been abandoned since his death in 2018. We decided to take a look on a recent road trip back in April 2023. Myself Ian & Dan from Abandoned UK couldn’t believe what we found in this incredible home which had absolutely everything left behind! There were also signs of decay everywhere which was very sad to see. Hope you enjoy this weeks video guys! 🙂

Ken Dodd was born and lived in the same house his entire life, it’s on Thomas Lane in Knotty Ash and his wife still lives there today. The reason I know……I grew up in Knotty Ash myself a few hundred yards away from Ken Dodd.

I do not live far from Ken’s house either I’ve even spoke to his wife a very nice lady very friendly. I’ve spoken to Ken when I worked in an old folks home (as they were called years ago) he used to visit to sit and talk to the residents lovely man very friendly RIP Ken sadly missed .

Loved Ken Dodd. He was a comedian that never had to rely on politics, swearing, or degrading behaviour to be funny. God bless him I was so sad when he passed. I thought his partner was living in his home? Did she die? I thought his home had pink walls?

He could have owned it as an investment opportunity as a landlord it not uncommon for people to have property portfolios, but never set foot in the properties they own, he did not own this house though you can verify that with the Land registry of England.

I remember going to one Ken Dodd show and he said I hope you have all brought a flask and sandwiches. We found out later why . It was the early hours of the morning when we finally left the theatre .. what a guy he could go on for ever … legend

Ken Dodd may have owned this house, but he certainly, didn't live in it. He lived in the same house (Oak House, in Knotty Ash) for the whole of his life. Interesting video!

Definitely not Ken Dodds house, a quick Web search would have confirmed this. His wife is still alive so it makes no sense why this would be left like this. I am fascinated by abandoned properties but often somethings don't ring true. In this one thing I was struck by was the fact there wasn't a spec of dust around the cigar that was lifted.

I find it so amazing and also quite sad in some ways that places like this are just abandoned just like somebody walked out and never returned as if they just dissappeared. You can tell that this place was once a lovely modern family home. Even pictures of family/relatives are still where they were placed by the owner/s..mysteriously intriguing!

Thank you for the respect that was shown in Kens house. This place should have a Blue Plaque and renoveated. Song writer, comedian, singer ( a chart hit) and many more accolades. I still watch an audience with Ken Dodd. I saw him live when i was a kid in South Devon, Paington. Even our late queen loved him. A great loss to us all and his pertner of many years.

Ken dodd did have a hideaway house in Shropshire he used to use as a stoping place according to the man you looked after it, but never lived there. It looks similar to this house ,but the house on Google has brickwork this house looks rendered.

I was going to say the same thing about the tv’s and the aerial, bloody pain those and I always ended up stripping the wires and using a metal coat hanger, much better signal. What a beautiful place and I’m amazed how it has managed to stay natural. 👍

I'm from Liverpool. Ken Dodd lived in Knotty Ash in Thomas Lane. He was born in the house and died their. His wife still lives in the property to this day. Ken Dodd did have a second house in Shropshire, Whitchurch back in the late 80's early 90's Which he abandoned after the tax court case. He stated during the court case that the house didn't even have the electricity connected. The house was used once in his diddymen programme back in the day. This house does look very similar and could be the one, great find guys, even if it isn't, it's still an amazing abandoned house guys

I was hoping you would find one of his ticking sticks! This was a lovely find, he was a funny man and was great in Doctor Who Delta and the bannermen. Its really sad to think he has gone. Interesting explore, Colin.👀 You didn't know that spiders have war games in your bathtub when you're not there? Many different kinds of spiders, as well as earwigs and other contenders. They slide in but they can't crawl up the slippery bathtub walls so they fight each other for something to do.😳

How ppl lived glam in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I just loved it. The staircase balastrade indicates to me this house was built in the 1960’s. The original features still left in the bathrooms look 1960’s .

So sad to see how time takes its toll on property as well as humans. I wonder what you would see if you could travel back in time and witness happier times in that house. The older you get the more you appreciate what life you have left. Ken has been gone for some 5 years now R.I.P Ken, you live on in our thoughts and on numerous types of media. This House shouldn't be in such bad condition after being empty for just 5 years. It must have been built on the cheap by Cowboy's. It's very doubtful it belonged to Ken Dodd with no visible references to his extensive Showbiz career.

He and his wife lived in Knotty Ash. They never had any children. I don’t think he ever owned a mansion. The house where he was born and died in was the only one. 😮

6:51 yeah Colin I recognise Mona Lisa. Orginally a painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Got a feeling she wasn't a relative of Ken Dodd though, her teeth are far too small.

Doubt very much this house has anything to do with Ken Dodd? As people have said, he lived his whole life in the same house. Plus, if he even stayed at this place, who are the people in the pictures? He had no children! Having said that, a very interesting video. Whoever lived there had a few bob, that’s for sure.
