Exploring Thunderball Grotto, an Island Cave in Exuma, Bahamas

In this video we took the 47 Freeman to explore Thunderball Grotto, which is just around the corner from the famous pig beach! We had an incredible time observing all the fish and coral, as well as swimming into and out of the grotto through underwater entrances.

I heard that the current there can be quite strong- we are planning to visit the grotto with an excursion company, but my party of 2 aren't strong swimmers. Will we be able to do this?

hello! I made flight reservations to go to The Bahamas this March, I am so excited! With thunderball grotto- it is the number one thing I want to do. Do you know if there is a place to rent a snorkel and flippers, or do I have to bring them?

What island will you be staying on, and will you be going on your own boat or taking a guided tour? Chances are a guided tour will include the use of their snorkel gear. Otherwise there may be some dive shops that offer rental gear depending on where you are going to be. @@NomadicMaverick I am going to Black Point! I don't have boating experience so hopefully there will be some type of tour I can find on the island.

@@Mcfaddenc15 Oh there are plenty of tour options available, you should be able to find one that can make the experience great! Might be a good idea to research and book it prior to going because I’m sure they fill up quickly.

Is the cave you come out of in the first part of the video also thunderball or is that a different place.

Everythings featured in this video is of Thunderball Grotto. There is a really fun way to enter/exit the cave at the 4:07 mark which I believe is what you’re asking about.
