Exploring Watercolor Techniques & Painting Styles

In this video I'm exploring different techniques for making this floral painting using watercolors and gouache. My goal with this video is to inspire you to experiment with different painting supplies and techniques to get creative and come up with new styles and ideas. Some can be more realistic looking and others more abstract or stylised.
I personally love these pretty flowers and feel like they are full of spring vibes. This can also be a great practice if you are experiencing creative block. Just pick something to paint and try different tools to paint them with.
Art supplies I'm using:
- Watercolor paper from Aquapad, non cotton, 300 gsm, cold pressed
- Synthetic watercolor brushes from Winsor & Newton, Round brushes in two different sizes for fine details and a larger mop brush for the bigger background area
- Watercolors from Winsor & Newto and Daniel Smith:
---Lemon yellow, Cadmimum yellow, Yellow ochre, Ultramarine turquoise
--- God watercolors from Colors by vita (a Swedish local handmade brand, I also recommend Fine tec watercolors)
- Watercolor pencil from Faber Castell
- Cotton buds and the tiny painting sponges (not sure about the name in English)
- Gouache paints from Winsor & Newton, Permanent white, Primary yellow and Mixing/ Zinc white.

Thank you, I love to take inspiration from nature. Always have the camera ready to pick pictures and use them as inspiration. Then try to paint the subject with different materials and techniques to create different styles
